Abstract: Urban tourism is becoming increasingly important both for private
entrepreneurs and local authorities. Because of the impact tourism can have, both the
private and public sectors have to get involved more in promoting their city as a
destination. The present paper tries to analyze the marketing efforts made by four
hotels in Eskişehir (Turkey) and present a series of practical solutions for the hotels
and the local authorities in order to improve the city’s image.
