In the modern world, most states are led by the democratic government system. In a democratic society, the responsibility of the state is to protect its citizens and to ensure their human rights. All the law enforcement authorities manage the rights to life of all people within the territory. Unfortunately, the law enforcement institutions in Bangladesh (Rapid Action Battalion—RAB) are causing many violations (crimes) in the name of encounters (crossfire). In comparison to those crimes, the official agencies aren’t even brought into the judiciary act, so they get impunity from the accountability. In Bangladesh, after forming the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), up to now it has killed around 1000+ people in so-called crossfire/encounters.
