Façade lighting design in a word, a successful lighting engineering design can effectively increase the vitality of the city, make the citizens feel proud, and at the same time give
visitors a beautiful night view of the city. A good night illumination of the landscape can not only effectively reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents, but also help maintain
urban social security, and attract more customers to visit the commercial street. This plays a decisive role in establishing a commercial street and even a city image.

Sistem pencahayaan dalam ruangan kerja yang intensitas kerjanya 24 jam dengan konsentrasi kerja yang cukup tinggi perlu diperhatikan karena berpengaruh pada kenyamanan visual, kesehatan, dan keamanan orang serta peralatan yang berada di ruangan tersebut. Pengukuran ruangan dilakukan untuk mengetahui data-data berupa dimensi ruangan, keadaan ruangan beserta spesifikasi lampu yang digunakan dibutuhkan untuk menganalisa kebutuhan pencahayaan pada ruangan tersebut. Selain untuk memberikan kenyamanan visual, kesehatan, dan keamanan para pekerja, serta menjamin aktivitas efektif lain didalam ruangan. Berdasarkan standar pencahayaan pada control room yang memenuhi standart penerangan ruang kerja dan ruang komputer yaitu 300-350 lux sesuai rekomendasi SNI 03-6575-2001. Aspek lain yang tidak kalah penting adalah konsumsi daya untuk pencahayaan yang nantinya berimbas pada pemakain sendiri. Pemilihan dan penempatan dari lampu dapat mempengaruhi jumlah lampu yang digunakan, secara otomatis juga dapat menghemat konsumsi daya. Berdasarkan latar belakang yang melandasi tugas akhir ini, adapun permasalahan yang muncul adalah bagaimana merancang suatu sistem pencahayaan yang sesuai dengan standar dan kebutuhan dengan tujuan agar dapat meminimalisir pemakaian sendiri disisi pencahayaan serta memenuhi ketentuan yang telah di sepakati oleh perusahaan. Adapun batasan masalah yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengambilan data hanya dilakukan pada control room PLTP Gunung Salak, kondisi ruangan pada waktu pengukuran adalah jam efektif kerja, pencahayaan yang digunakan adalah pencahayaan buatan, perhitungan parameter pencahayaan control room menggunakan perangkat lunak, dan perhitungan optimasi pengunaan daya dan biaya. Performance based design approach helps to undertake effective actions for mitigating climate change and formulating green building development schemes. Taking into account the performance of buildings, this paper focuses on the lighting of production spaces of readymade garment factories of Dhaka region. Computer based simulations help to predict the possible efficient lighting design in terms of adequacy of lighting as well as energy consumption. This paper uses a newly available lighting simulation tool "DIALux" to establish its reliability validating the simulated data with the data found from the field survey. This paper also shows the scope of using it for selecting and designing efficient luminaire layout in a production space ensuring both the quality of lighting and optimising energy consumption.

Proper designing with the help of different tools available in the market, help to get the accurate and optimum results. If we design the system correctly, then huge portion of the work get completed because at design stage designer can appreciate the actual work involvement and what may be the futuristic requirement.

Right usage of right software can further help the designers to design such lighting system which results reduction in energy consumption to great extent as well as reduction in investment. Also, daylight factor cannot be ignored during day time.

The article explains why right usage of right software is essential when it comes to lighting designing.

ÖZET Yapılarda aydınlatma amacı ile harcanan elektrik enerjisi toplam enerjinin yaklaşık %40'ını oluşturmaktadır. Bu sebeple tasarıma günışığını dahil ederek enerji tasarrufu sağlamak ön plana çıkmaktadır. Aydınlatma tasarımcıları ve mimarlar günışığından daha fazla yararlanma görevini üstlenirken, geliştirecekleri tasarımların enerji verimliliği ile ilgili öngörülerde de bulunmalıdırlar. Günışığının içeriye daha fazla alınması ile planlandığı gibi aydınlatma açısından enerji tasarrufu yapılırken, CO2 salınımı azaltılıp, görsel konfor koşulları iyileştirilebilir. Buna karşılık doğru yapılmayan bir günışığı tasarımında termal konforsuzluklara neden olunup, soğutma yükü arttırılabilir ve/veya kamaşmaya sebep olunabilir. Böyle sonuçlara yol açmamak için, hangi günışığı sisteminin kullanılacağı seçilirken dikkatlice karar verilmelidir. Bu çalışma kapsamında, seçilen Yaşar Üniversitesi Kafeterya binasında çatı penceresi kullanma önerisini DIALux ve DesignBuilder simulasyon programları ile test edilmiştir. Her iki programın özellikleri kullanılarak bu önerinin yapıdaki enerji tüketimine nasıl bir etkisi olduğu değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma sonunda elde edilen sonuçlar incelenerek örnek yapıda önerilen çatı penceresinin kullanımının enerji tüketimi açısından yarattığı değişim tartışılmıştır. ABSTRACT The share of electrical energy consumption for lighting in buildings is about 40% within the total consumption. Daylight integrated lighting solutions can significantly reduce energy consumptions. Lighting designers and architects are in charge of benefitting from daylight, so that they have to take some precautions and consider daylight in design period. Increasing daylight penetration may significantly save energy, reduce CO2 emissions, improve visual comfort and enhance the quality of the indoor environment. On the other hand if not properly designed, this may turn the tides by increasing cooling loads, affect thermal comfort or causing glare. Therefore, deciding on which daylight system to use is a very important issue. In this study skylight's impact on a case study will be analyzed using two softwares; DesignBuilder and DIALux. These softwares are capable of simulating and evaluating skylights systems in energy savings both in terms of lighting and thermal comfort. In order to see how using skylight effects energy consumption, Yaşar University's cafeteria building has been evaluated as a case study. The gathered simulations (by using DesignBuilder and DIALux) have been analyzed. At the end of the study, the effectiveness of the proposed skylight system was discussed by looking at the energy consumption results.

The share of electrical energy consumption for lighting in buildings is about 40% within the total consumption[1]. This makes evaluation of energy consumption due to lighting to play a vital role in sustainability. Lighting designers and architects are in charge of evaluating energy consumptions. Therefore use of lighting programs to evaluate energy consumption both eases the work and assures reliable results. There are different programs to evaluate energy consumption of lighting in buildings, this contribution focuses on three of them; DIALux, ReluxEnergy and ecoCALC. DIALux and Relux are commonly used for lighting calculation of both daylight and artificial lighting. These two programs can also evaluate energy consumption of lighting solutions. For evaluation, user has to choose either EN 15193 or DIN 18599 standards. ecoCALC is not a lighting calculation program like DIALux and ReluxEnergy. The program evaluates different lighting designs by using many aspects such as maintenance, green criteria, costs etc. ecoCALC ranks different possible lighting solutions according to user expectations by making detailed evaluations. The goal of this paper is to identify and accelerate the widespread use of appropriate energy evaluation programs and their integration with building systems, making them the preferred choice of lighting designers and users. In this contribution, different lighting solutions will be evaluated by each of these programs and the results will be compared. In this work, we present a technical and economic study of the solar powered street lighting system of a municipality in the south of Morocco. The state of the conventional street lighting system is first analyzed in a substation of street lighting. Then a sizing method is applied to the photovoltaic installation in the testing area. A financial study, by comparison between conventional and PV-based lighting, is carried out showing the feasibility of the PV street lighting.).

The concept of green sigma is the latest trendsetter which encompasses the important strategies of six and lean sigma together under one roof. This paper explains the concept of green sigma initially, then feasibility of applying this model in a power station was thoroughly analyzed and applied to replace the existing fluorescent lighting system of the power plant with LED lightings and valid proofs in terms energy savings were generated to substantiate LED. The methodology employed were the five steps of green sigma modified suitably to study, analyze and generate results on the lighting system. A complete LED lighting design was developed for 12 rooms in the administration block of the power station (indoors) and the benefits derived by implementing LEDs daylight was simulated and optimized using DIALUX lighting software in terms of energy savings, wattage savings, reduced carbon dioxide footprint, and other potential environmental benefits such as mercury savings were calculated and statistical results were generated for each room of the administration block. The analysis resulted in potential energy savings and carbon reduction to the tune of 50%due to revised lighting system.
