moreThe aim of this work was to analyse the need for an interconnection between university studies and the knowledge of the common sense acquired by the experience acquired in the field of action (or, in this case, by the lack of experience, training and information).
Starting from the concept, although considered by many as indisputable, that health and education is a social right and accessibility is a constitutional right, in this work we intend to identify and highlight, using examples of what is done on the “ground”, the tools that allow the inclusion of young people with disabilities.
The objective of this work is demonstrating the contribution of the arts, in this specific case the theatre, for the development of language, autonomy, and self-esteem, for people with disabilities, and their integration into society. And to warn about the insufficiencies / forgetfulness, in terms of support from the State and the local government towards this vulnerable group. Due to economic and socio-cultural difficulties, not all citizens with disabilities are able to enjoy this type of informal education, nor the associations that promote this model of education, are aware of the number of elements of the population
that could benefit from this type of activities, where they are located (as they are often not “visible”).
