Engineering Analysis with SolidWorks Simulation 2011

This work is on the aerodynamics design of the body and frame of a motor tricycle using SolidWorks 2011 modeling system. Its Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) feature was used to run simulation tests at a target speed of 150 km/h to evaluate the aerodynamic performance of the tricycle. Simulation results presented shows that lift and drag forces are diminished considerably and that 170 km/h is the maximum speed to be traveled by the tricycle for a smooth and stable ride. Also, the design reduced drastically the effects of lift and drag forces, increased the tricycle’s stability, traction and performance as well as minimized the weight of the tricycle as a result of the use of high performance to mass ratio materials such as carbon fiber for the body and alloy steel for the frame and rims.

Introduction to SolidWorks, second edition is an update of the first edition using the latest version of SolidWorks solid modeling software. In this book students design a skateboard while learning  proper drafting and design engineering practices.

Ovaj rad prikazuje korištenje softvera SolidWorks pri izvođenju numeričkih simulacija statičkog opterećenja trapezne dizalice, dobivene na osnovu prethodno urađenog analitičkog proračuna karakterističnih dijelova u I dijelu ovog rada, kao i upotrebu SolidWorks Motion Analysis softvera za definisanje kretanja sklopa, kao i računanje brzine kretanja pojedinih dijelova dizalice.

The 21st Century was ushered in with several challenging problems amongst is the medical
problems like HIV/AIDs, Bird flu and Swine flu and Sars. There are other environmental and
financial problems which are everywhere present and there is indeed the need for world
scientists, engineers and educators to develop capacity to tackle these global problems.
The proceedings for the International Conference on Mathematical Modelling of some Global
Challenging Problems in the 21st Century is the showcase of novel report of findings of some
Scientists, engineers and educators who have love and passion for solving humanity problems
Through modelling and simulation were assembled together at the conference.
The outcome of research findings of the Presenters after a peer review process are published in
this Volume.
The participants in the conference advocated that this conference should made to be an annual
Event with possibility of forming the Society for Mathematical Modelling and Simulation
Future. It also suggested that some of the findings and recommendation should be adopted by
National Planners and Policy Makers in their nations.
Finally, before I end this preface I wish to acknowledge the support and encouragement the
National Mathematical Centre, Abuja, Nigeria received from the COMSATS National
Secretariat and our dear member states of COMSATS for the mandate given us to develop
capacity on mathematical modelling for the sub-region of Africa. We shall keep on carry on the
mandate to ensure that everybody is mathematical modelling literate in the sub-region and to
