Menopause is one of the most challenging periods for every woman. Balanced diet and healthy life style have a great bearing on their future health. The objective of the study was to assess nutritional intake as well as nutritional knowledge in rural post-menopausal women. The study included 140 disease free post-menopausal women; non-users of HRT recruited from November 2018 to February 2019. Variables including socio-demographic and anthropometric factor, calorie and nutrient intake, food frequency as well as the nutritional knowledge were recorded for each woman. In order to determine dietary intake, information of 24-hour dietary food recall was recorded for three successive days. The results of the study revealed that majority of the respondents belonged to the age group of 45-55 years having mean age at menopause was 50.21±4.05 (45%) of them were belonged to agriculture. Actual mean food and nutrient intake of the respondent was founded to be more than RDA which may be due to their eating habits and economics status. BMI of the study population showed that 35.1% overweight and 14.4 % had grade II obesity. The findings showed that rural postmenopausal women, aged 51.65±5.40 years had energy intakes (EI) 2226±395 (1.43%) above the RDA, consisting protein (1.2%), calcium (5.2%) less than RDA and fat (42.8%) above the RDA. Food habits of the respondent indicate insufficient knowledge of nutritional need and recommendation. Low nutritional knowledge was seen in most of the study population. Nutritional knowledge was positively associated with education and socio-economic status but in this study area most of the women (56.4%) were illiterate, and (44.9%) women belongs to lower income group.

Nutrition education of people has been recognised as an important tool for promotion of nutritional status. It imparts knowledge about dietary requirements and food choices. Game based approach may be effective for imparting nutrition education; hence experiment was carried out with specific objectives to aware students about their dietary nutrients requirement and their sources. Carom is a popularly played game with family and friends and carom board game was modified and used. The game based approach was found effective to change in knowledge due to playing of developed educational carom. Difference in mean score was computed by paired ‘t’ test, and it was significant at 0.05 level of probability, Hence concluded that the carom game was effective for imparting nutrition knowledge about food groups their sources functions, and recommended dietary allowances.

Textile industry is among the most essential consumer goods industry. However, textile industry is accused of being one of the most polluting industries. Not only production but consumption of textiles also produces waste. To counter the problem, textile industry has taken many measures for reducing its negative contribution towards environment. One of such measures is textile recyclingthe reuse as well as reproduction of fibers from textile waste. Recycling can be done through thermal, material, chemical and mechanical processes. Textile recycling is beneficial for environmental and economic conditions, reducing demand for textile chemicals, requirement of landfill space is reduced, consumption of less energy and reducing of water wastage. Market research, and efforts are needed to increase consumer awareness and to encourage manufacturers to increase the use of recycled textile waste into new products.

This paper aims at reading The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock with respect to T.E.Hulme’s argument in Romanticism and Classicism. The researchers try to apply T.E.Hulme’s notion of Romanticism and Classicism on dramas and poems. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock poem will be examined and illustrated from two differing but independent classical and romantic perspective based on Hulme’s definitions. It shows that the poem contain characteristics of both classical and romantic art forms. The effect of Hulme’s notion can be seen particularly clearly in the works of T.S.Eliot and other poets of the 1930’s.  T.E.Hulme’s insistence on order and exactness sowed the seed of ‘Classical revival”, to which Eliot contribute a great deal in his poems.

The dramatic rise in frequency of childhood overweight and obesity has become a major concern and is becoming increasingly clear due to its higher prevalence and incidence. The risk factors responsible for childhood overweight and obesity are inadequate levels of physical activity and improper dietary habits. This review aims to investigate the prevalence of childhood overweight and obesity and its associated risk factors. All articles published between 2000 and 2018 were reviewed carefully. A varied prevalence of overweight and obesity was observed among different regions of India. The reviewed studies showed a tremendous increase in the problem of overweight and obesity.

Cissus quadrangualaris plant yield fibers and all the parts of this plant can be utilized in many applications. In
recent days, textile industries are widely using plant fibers for numerous applications acquired from lots of resources. The
advantage of natural fibers is their continuous supply, easy and safe handling, and biodegradable nature. The usage of
enzymes in the textile industry consents the development of eco-friendly technologies in fiber processing and tactics to
improve the final product quality. In the present work, natural cellulosic fibers were extracted from Cissus quadrangualaris
plant using an eco-friendly method (amylase enzyme). The physico-chemical, thermal and mechanical properties of Cissus
quadrangualaris fibers were reported in this paper. Further, the properties of CQSF ensured that it can play an imperative
role in the textile manufacturing industries.

ABSTRACT
The design and construction of an Automatic Alarm System to monitor the water level is an electronic device which attempt to monitor the flood level/water level and to alert the user to put it off. Being an electronic device, it is Automatic and highly sensitive to water. The system is a network comprising of a Sensor Unit which is a plastic  container fitted with Two Probes made of Copper Conductor; Solid State Switch which is a direct coupling of Amplifier using Complimentary Circuits of two Transistors, NPN and PNP. It consists of Oscillator Unit is an Electronic Circuit that use AC output signal without requiring any external applied input; and then the Audio power amplifier which consists of a Darlington Pair in which the Emitter of one is connected to the base of the other directly. It’s a rugged device and can be used under diverse conditions. With the low power consumption of the device, it can function for a very long time before it calls for a battery replacement. This is due to the fact that the Oscillator is in a standby mode when Flood or spillage due to over-drainage does not occur. It can withstand Mechanical Vibrations when moving it from one place to another as well as adverse condition of water (Non-distilled) be it rain, river or pond.
The Switching unit is responsible for switching ON/OFF of the buzzer when actuated; the Sensor unit normally senses the water level, indicating and sensing the water level from the designated point and Buzzer unit which is responsible for activating an Audio sound (Alarm) when the water level fills up the tank.
With the low power consumption of the device, it can be used under any condition and it can function for a very long time before the need will arise for battery replacement.

Millets and Cereals can provide more Nutrients, Phytochemicals and Antioxidants which should be in demand for maintaining a good health status. By fortifying a food increases the level of Macro and Micro Nutrients, Dietary fibres, and Phenolic compounds which shows to impart an antimutagenic, antiglycemic and anti-protective activities. The preparation of multigrain flour mixture and assess the organoleptic properties of the prepared products with determine the nutritive value of the prepared products. The required materials i.e. Wheat grains, Oats, Finger millet, Buck wheat and Pearl millet were collected from the local market of Allahabad city and the flour and products were prepared in the lab. The nutrient composition as available in Gopalan"s (2014) publication was used to calculate the nutritive values. Percentage, mean Score, standard error of mean, critical difference and ANOVA were applied and the sensory attributes in all multigrain products illustrated according to overall acceptability in the method. The result shows the sensory evaluation of the multigrain chapatti & biscuit illustrated that the according to overall acceptability mean score of chapatti & biscuit indicates that the treatment T 2 (8.3) scored maximum followed by other treatments. Hence From the ANOVA table of all three products that , it is evident that the calculated value of F is greater than the table value on 4,8 (d.f.) at 5% probability level so there was significant difference between treatments regarding all sensory Attributes of the product. The nutritive value of all three products was shown more in Treatment 4. From the above results which were obtained from the research it could be concluded that the simple wheat flour chapatti or other products could be replaced by multigrain products without much changes in taste because all the multigrain mixture products have a very good sensory score and also rich in nutritive values than normal wheat flour.

Paddy threshing by manually operated paddy thresher is popular among the farmers since more than 60 percent of the cultivated land in hill area is under the category of small and marginal farmers in India. In manual beating operation the operator had to sit in a bent position, which was ergonomically not appropriate for long-time operation, since wrong posture may cause serious injury. Hence need was felt to design and develop a small motorized thresher especially for hill region which should be user friendly and more efficient New developed thresher was a low cost motorized machine for threshing paddy crops. The machine runs on ½ hp and operated by an electric motor. Due to the mechanical process, drum speed increased and it reduced the energy expenditure and threshing time of the users. Natural dyes are dyes or colorants that are derived from plants, animals, insects and minerals .Most of the natural dyes are obtained from parts of plants-leaves, stem, barks, seeds, flowers, roots etc. The present study is on dyeing of fibre and fabric with natural dye in Manipur. The study started by reviewing a wide range of literature like books, journals, bulletins concerned with natural dye and interview with people who engaged in this age-old tradition. All the documents available in written form were documented properly. Colour photograph of some of the handloom products dyed with natural dye were taken. The people of the state still use these dyes for dyeing of their handloom products which are famous all over the world. Different mordants like acidic and alkaline obtained from natural resources were also used to get different shades and also to increase the colour fastness of the fabric.

A research publication alone is not sufficient, it is the adequate and appropriate dissemination
of knowledge through the research work published that will make a difference. Since the impact of
research and knowledge is best seen, when it is shared in diverse languages, both national &
international. Both through conferences and research publications, research findings need
encouragement for being debated before being disseminated. It is only when through discussions a
constructive feedback is provided, that the research quality can improve. Today, there are various
research journals published in every sphere of education, teacher education, technology, science,
sociology, psychology, philosophy, health sector, arts, etc. But how to know the quality of these research
journals there requires the journal citation factors. With this objective our college has added one more
feature in our multidisciplinary international peer reviewed journal. Initially, it was only with ISSN status,
gradually various features were added to the quality of journal. In 2014, the journal received an impact

publication, we have been listed in the database of EBSCO, USA. We have eminent international

Segregation is one of the most important activities that we need to promote and enforce for effective waste management in urban area and to make landfills reduce in size gradually. Segregation of waste components should be encouraged at source, the new MSW rules 2016 insist that. This study was carried out with the objective of studying the knowledge, attitude, practice of solid waste management (SWM) with special emphasis on segregation at source. The location of the study was an urban ward with number 14 of Rainbow Nagar, Puducherry. Hundred households were taken for the study on random basis. This area comprises of educated and proactive and participative family members from whose response reliable and holistic information can be sought. The results obtained are discussed with percentage s as comparable measure. Around 71-91% exhibited positive attitude over SWM which reflected their commitment towards the community. The response was overwhelmingly positive with 96% to abide by the government if sorting of solid waste was made compulsory.

The study investigates the processing and marketing of cassava products in the Southeast, Nigeria. Multi-stage random sampling was used to select 120 respondents, using structured questionnaire to collect primary data on the quantity and the cost of cassava used for processing each product, the method of processing and cost of processing. The return per naira on investment of the cassava products was evaluated, and the result showed that cassava processing is a profitable venture. Processing cassava tubers into flour was more profitable with a return of 9 kobo per N1 invested in the business as against 7.8 kobo and 7.1kobo for garri and chips respectively. Several constraints associated with processing and marketing of cassava products were identified. This study recommended the need for government and the private sector to assist cassava processors with credit, processing and storage facilities, good road network as this will boost the economic performance of this sector of the economy.

Not much is known about the association between menstrual disorders and physical activities in adolescent girls. This study was conducted to assess the prevalence of menstrual disorders and their association with physical activity among adolescent girls in Aligarh city. This cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out among 320 adolescent school going girls aged 14-17 years over a period of 10 months. A predesigned pretested structured questionnaire cum interview schedule was used to collect data regarding age at menarche, menstrual cycle interval, menstrual flow length and period pain. Physical activity was assessed by the Physical activity questionnaire scale (PAQ-A). Chi-square and Pearson's correlation test was applied using IBM SPSS version 21.0. Mean age at menarche was calculated as 12.60 ± 0.99 which ranges from 11 to 16 years. The overall prevalence of menstrual disorders was reported by 76.9%. The most common menstrual disorder was PMS (71.3%). Dysmenorrhoea was 46.3%, amenorrhoea (21.3%), oligomenorrhea (12.8%), polymenorrhea (22.2%), menorrhagia (15.9%) and hypomenorrhea (15%).The majority of adolescent attained menarche at an appropriate age. Dysmenorrhea and PMS are highly prevalent among girls in Aligarh. Strong inverse correlation (R=-0.342, p>0.01) was found between physical activity and menstrual disorders. Dysmenorrhoea and PMS had highly inverse correlation (p> 0.01) while amenorrhoea and menorrhagia had mild inverse correlation (p> 0.05). PMS was the commonest menstrual disorder that interfered with the daily routine of the school girls. Hence, physical activity must be considered as a significant and important risk factor while identifying different types of menstrual disorder. There is an urgent need for menstrual health education so that the disorders underlined can be detected at the initial stage and can be treated in a better way.

The farm women of hills spend most of their time in various house hold activities. Water carrying from distant places is a tedious job in northern hills of India. This may expose women to risk factors such as force, awkward postures, and repetitive motions that can lead to injuries, and wasted energy and time. To bring in better work effectiveness and reduced drudgery, an attempt was made to disseminate ergonomically designed water carrying bag in hill areas of Uttarakhand in India. Carrying water on waist was found beneficial as the mean score of drudgery experience matrix was found to be 11.52 compare to traditional method of water carrying i.e. 25.80.

Anthropometry is a complex of comparative methods which measure and compare humans and humankind in totality. It attempts to gauge humans within species primarily and with other animal species generally. From macro units as measuring rod i.e. anthropometer to nano units as the scale of electron microscope if used in measuring and comparing humans, are of its content in biological perspective. However, humans can not only be determined completely in this perspective. Socio-cultural and ethological devices, either they are qualitative or quantitative cannot be separated from comparing humans, may it be human community or its close animal species. Thus, anthropometry provides basic methods of knowing and comparing in all human sciences since the inception of humanity and hence there is a need to reconsider it in its holistic perspectives.
    Although it is misunderstood, its natural force and gravity is estimated with malevolent intensions during 19th and 20th centuries onward. During this phase biological and other social sciences excelled. Their devices dictated their own terms and conditions in anthropological researches too. Such kind of spark made physical anthropologists particularly a blind follower of these trends. They imitated a lot from these streams. In consequence, they are looked helpless notwithstanding the theory of discrimination can be made broaden based in terms of available instruments. It is also partly caused due to the paucity of the theory in physical anthropology. Thus, anthropometry looks like a key to provide the data of several varieties by which humans can be compared through the packages of multivariate analysis.

A variety of indigenous fermented foods exist today; however ‘Tempeh’ has been one of the most widely accepted and researched mould modified fermented product. In the present study, tempeh types developed  using twenty different combinations of cereals and pulses were evaluated for their organoleptic qualities. Tempeh chips were made with fresh tempeh and was assessed for their acceptability.  Among the tempeh chips, the overall acceptability score of 8.9 was for T2 (100 % green gram tempeh) and the lowest overall acceptability score (6.9) was for T16( green gram 50% + cowpea 50%). Tempeh chips prepared with all the combination had a very good acceptability score.

India is a profolic of tradition and culture both in custom, art and craft. India, wrapped in mystique enhanced with romance of fable crafts has one of the finest textile traditions in the world. Since decades highly developed civilizations continue to produce remarkable, eminent and ornate textiles with its distinct patterns, designs and motifs having different placements and layouts. However, escalating demands of consumers requires modification in the fashion industry with respect to design, motifs, colour, style and technique. In design-making process, source of inspiration has a vital role, both in defining the characteristics of a new design and in informing the creation of a distinct design. The purpose of this study was to create some original and innovative designs for textiles inspired from selected Mughal monuments of Agra. Several designs were developed on Adobe Photoshop software taking inspiration from three different monuments. Thirty designs that were innovative and suitable for textile designing were screened by experts. Through this study, an attempt was made to incorporate the rich motifs and designs of the various mughal monuments into contemporary forms on textile products. The present research also contributes to documentation and digitization of the motifs of these architectural wonders. It holds incredible promise for both collections and researchers through greater access, interaction and preservation of heritage for future generations. All the developed designs were subjected to visual evaluation for ranking of best designs in each category by the panel of fifty respondents to find out the suitability of the developed designs for textile design applications.

Inspiration has long been considered important in many creative professions including architectural design, which plays an important role in shaping visual appearance of products. Every design begins with great inspiration. One of the inspirations is architectural styles of buildings that strive to preserve the cultural heritage of an entire civilization. In combination with other work on inspiration, these findings can help shape how design is taught and how inspiration tools are developed. This is a study conducted to understand the different motifs, colours, interior and intricate designs used in decorating Taj Mahal. The jali lattice, floral motifs on makrana marbles have been inspiration for designing products.

Peels obtained from fruits are usually discarded or disposed in an improper manner that leads to several environmental problems. Currently, utilization of fruit peels in different ways is gaining attention due to their nutritional and pharmacological properties. Mango peel is a novel source of dietary fibre, polyphenols and carotenoids that can be utilized therapeutically. The present study was carried out to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of mango peel powder and to develop nutritious recipes using mango peel powder. The antimicrobial activity of different extracts of mango peel powder (aqueous, acetone and ethanol) indicated that acetone extract exhibited highest antibacterial activity against E.coli, Salmonella typhi, Shigella spp and Enterobacter spp while ethanol and aqueous extract showed highest antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger strain. Convenience is a multifaceted concept and often listed as the most important factor that determine the food of choice apart from the cost, health, sensory acceptability and related concerns. The present study was carried out with the objective to develop a instant soup mix from sprouted horse gram, Radish leaves powder, Onion powder, Garlic powder, Coriander powder, curry leaves powder, Pepper powder, and Salt in different ratios of the ingredients. The prepared product samples were evaluated for sensory evaluation quality and shelf life. When sensory qualities among different formulation were evaluated, sample S2 got significantly higher values for appearance, colour, flavour and taste. Instant soup mix did not reveal any pathogenic organism when it is stored for 1month in laminated pouches under normal room condition. Background: Teaching is being considered as one of the noblest profession since ancient times. Women above the age of 40 years' experience menopausal transition, which is a stage characterized by increased variability in menstrual cycle lengths until permanent amenorrhea occurs. In India there are very few studies and findings on influence of menopausal symptoms in teachers on various aspects. Thus, the study will help to understand the influence of menopause on teachers' eating behaviour and quality of life. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted among 180 female teachers aged between 41-60 years in the pre, peri and post status of menopause at private aided school in Urban Bengaluru. Data was collected using predesigned questionnaire along with standardized questionnaires such as Menopause Rating Scale, Adult Eating Behaviour and WHO-BREF through purposive random sampling technique. The collected data was analysed using SPSS v 24o for Post Hoc test, ANOVA and a p value of less than 0.01 and 0.05 which was considered to be statistically significant. Results: The study showed that the average age at menopause was 49 years. Pre, peri and post-menopausal teachers mean BMI was 25.88 + 3.676 and mean Waist Hip Ratio was 0.85 + 0.052 which indicated overweight. Results stated that eating behaviour of all the status of menopause of respondents had a significant (p<0.01) impact on quality of life. Premenopausal women had high significance score (p< 0.01) which indicated that they had better quality of life compared to the other two status of menopause. The menopause rating scale does not impact the eating behaviour (p> 0.05). There was a significant difference (p<0.01) observed in the impact of Menopause symptoms on the Quality of Life. Conclusion: The study concludes that respondents with varying status of menopause had association with menopause symptoms and quality of life but insignificant association with eating behaviour.

This paper uses the concept of ‘cultural capital’ from the theory of Pierre Bourdieu and it aims on the one hand to investigate the similarities and differences between the institutionalized and objectified cultural capital of native and immigrant parents of state primary school students in Greece and on the other hand to correlate these two forms of cultural capital with their expectations for the educational future of their children. The research was conducted during the spring semester of 2014 with the use of semi-structured interviews, in which 20 parents (10 native and 10 immigrant) of children in the 6 th grade of primary schools in the city of Patras participated. Non-communicable diseases continue to be an important public health problem in
India, being responsible for a major proportion of mortality and morbidity. The present study involves the assessment of risk factor, dietary patterns and lifestyles associated with noncommunicable diseases.
Methods:Sample of 500 respondents was recruited as part of simple random sampling. There were 250 women and 250 male selected for the study, in age group between 50 to 60 years for both male and female. Study site was the urban areas of Faizabad District.Primary tool used in the study were pre designed and pre tested questionnaire which consisted of general and specific information required for the study. Face to face personal interview methods were employed to collect the data.
Results: It is found thatthe mean age of the respondents were 52 years for males and 54 years for females. Thestudy revealed that the percentage of respondents, free from any communicable diseases in male and female was 24.4%, 12.8% respectively. Prevalence of diabetes was high in male (32.4%), in comparison to female (4.4%). While obesity was high in female (42.4%) and in male (8.4%).It was found that stroke and hypertension was highly prevalent condition under the group of CVD diseases, in male (18%) and in female was (47.6%).Tobacco smoking, chewing and alcoholism was only practicing by males (63.6%), no females were found in this category.1.2% female and 1.6% male of total respondents were suffering from cancer. Physical
activity was limited to their work; all the respondents were belonging to sedentary lifestyle. 50% of total male and female respondents had taking inappropriate diet. A large number of them (63.6%) were advised life style modification such as diet modification, lose weight and increase physical activity.
Conclusions: Diet should be rich in fruit and vegetables and avoiding foods that are high in fat, sugar and salt.Be physically active – at least 30 minutes of regular, moderate-intensity activity on most days, more activity is required for maintaining a healthy body weight. Tobacco smoke and use of alcohol should be avoided as it increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Culture, communication and cuisine are an interwoven web which connects people and supports in establishing identity. Food forms an integral part of the culture of Buddhism. A survey conducted in 2016 by Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok found nearly half of the country's monks were overweight. Thus the present study was formulated to assess the lifestyle and health status of Buddhist monks in Bengaluru (12-60 years). The objectives of the study were 1) to investigate the dietary pattern and food choices of Buddhist monks 2) to observe relationship between spirituality and dietary patterns 3) to secure data on the health status of Buddhist monks. Self administered questionnaire to elicit data on demographic profile, anthropometric data, dietary pattern, physical activity pattern, clinical and biochemical parameters of the monks was used. Evidently the monks lead a sedentary lifestyle and more than half of them were either obese (I) or overweight. More than half of the monks preferred packaged fruit juices and carbonated drinks. Even though some occasional instances of gastrointestinal symptoms and psychological symptoms (anxiety/depression) were reported, the biochemical parameters were all in normal range. The psychological effects of the monastic life seem to outweigh the risks of developing any non communicable diseases. Yet the long term risks of sedimentary lifestyle could affect the health status of the monks and cannot be left unacknowledged or uninspected. Therefore 30-45 minutes moderate physical activities for at least 3-4 days a week along with well balanced and nourishing diet is recommended.

The insurance is primarily a social device adopted by civilized society for mitigating the incidence of loss of income to families by unforeseen contingencies. The impact of privatization in life insurance business in India has showed tremendous transformation from monopoly business to a vibrant sector with mushrooming companies promoting wide range of policies and increasing customer penetration rate. The growth in the life insurance sector has showed new heights and the executions of the private companies have given tough challenge to the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The entire sector has started to show significant changes right from increasing insurance penetration to changing the customer mindset about the life insurance. Creative practices in marketing and innovative policies have changed the entire dimensions of the life insurance sector. The present research aims at bring out the evolution and advancement of private sector in life insurance business, challenges and competition ahead for future scenario of life insurance sector in India. Diabetes is a group of metabolic disorders resulting from a defect in insulin secretion, insulin action or both (Drucker, 1999). These defects alter glucose uptake by cells and its use within them. Hypertension results in a thickening of the arterial wall due to a net increase in wall constituents via a coordinated production and removal of smooth muscle and extracellular matrix. With so many possible complications of hypertension with diabetes it is critical for a person with this disease to take active steps in controlling it. Results showed that out of 30 patients, 70% were males. 36.67% subjects had the family history of hypertension and 43.33% subjects had the family history of diabetes. 43.33 % patients have Diabetes Mellitus along with hypertension followed by high cholesterol level (40%). Slum tourism is a growth industry with more and more wealthy travellers opting to visit the poorest parts of the world. . The dictionary meaning of slum tourism is: “Poverty tourism or poorism, also known as township tourism or slumming, is a type of tourism, in which tourists travel to less-developed places to observe people living in poverty.” According to slum tour operators, tourists use this as an opportunity to learn about real slum life. Tomatoes are a boots of nutrient enriched with antioxidants and essential mineral that are vital for growth, fighting cancer, increasing immunity, improved vision and fighting against infections etc. Moreover,
tomatoes ranked top among the canning and value addition food industries for making culinary products for storage. During the glut season, food preservation is a sound approach to store the product for further use to meet the domestic and commercial demands at reasonable price by storing them in off-season. In the present research work, three varieties of tomato namely TH1, TH1251 and TH SHIVA were evaluated in terms of physical parameters i.e. shape, size, colour and firmness etc. Tomatoes were processed and further evaluated organoleptically in terms of colour, flavor, taste, texture and over all acceptability on anine point hedonic scale for ketchup making so that the best variety should be utilized for making  tomatoes ketchup for food preservation. The results concluded that there was statistically significant difference found among the three different varieties of tomato and TH 1 had overall high acceptability (1.25±0.37) in terms of colour (1.14±0.37), flavour (1.14±0.37), texture (1.42±0.37) and taste (1.25±0.37) as well.

Background: Lifestyle diseases among adolescents have both immediate and long term harmful consequences that have been identified as a major health concern for disease control and prevention. Lifestyle factors especially eating habits, physical activity and body mass index appear to influence the accumulation of fat, which in turn relates to the development of major and conditional NCD risk factors. Objectives: Determine the physical activity, dietary intake and BMI and compare with standardised values for any deviation. Methods: Sample of the study comprised 400 school going adolescents (divided equally across gender) of urban area of Jammu city. Multistage sampling technique was used to select the sample. The tools used for the study included anthropometric measurements, 24 hour dietary recall method , seven day Global physical activity questionnaire developed by WHO and socio economic status scale. Results: The sample adolescents were short in their height when compared with standard height for age. Even when compared for weight, majority among sample adolescents were underweight. Respondents were consuming less calories than standard recommended dietary allowances and skipped one of their basic meal especially breakfast. Conclusion: The high prevalence of sedentary lifestyle, physical inactivity and unhealthy eating habits among adolescents is a major public health concern. There is an urgent need for national policy promoting active living and healthy eating and reducing sedentary behaviours among children and adolescents at national, state and school level.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the technology that can be used for application of functional finishes on fabrics. This review paper investigates the techniques applied in the formation of the microcapsules, its purpose, and method of application for fixing it on textiles, the binders and polymers used and release of aroma. There are various release mechanisms which can be applied as per the requirement or end use. The essential oils used are highly volatile in nature hence very difficult to maintain the durability of the finish in terms of storage and washability. In this review, microencapsulation techniques of application to obtain innovative fabrics for the textile sector has been highlighted.

Maternal nutrition knowledge and child feeding practices are essential in child’s growth and development. Without adequate nutrition knowledge and optimal feeding practices, poor nutritional status among children can arise even in households with adequate income and food, good sanitation and health services. The consequences of Undernutrition can have long-term limiting impact on child’s growth. This paper presents the level of maternal nutrition knowledge and their child feeding practices, and the influence they have on child’s nutritional status in an urban area in Nigeria. A validated interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect information from mothers of children 6-23 months of age. The level of maternal knowledge on child health and nutrition was examined; overall knowledge was classified as good, fair and poor. The impact of the textile industry on the environment and the consumption of raw materials and natural resources are becoming prime concerns. It is no longer adequate to have a finished product to be safe only to human beings, but the product has to be environmentally safe during its entire life cycle. This study aims to get environment friendly discharge print on natural dyed cotton and silk fabrics. The ecological impact was assessed on the basis of waste water emission and applicability of the prints by whiteness and tensile strength test. Fabric samples were dyed with natural turmeric in combination with myrobalan and mordants – pomegranate rind (natural), alum and copper sulphate (metallic). Four discharging agents were explored, two reducing i.e. Safolite and Safolin and Hydrogen peroxide and Potassium permanganate from oxidising category. Oxidising discharge pastes gave better results as compared to reducing agents. Discharge results were better on silk fabric than on cotton.
