This study aimed to assess the Information and Communication Technology resources in teaching industrial subjects at Naval State University, Naval, Biliran. The descriptive research design was used in this study to gather data on the utilization of information and communication technology resources in teaching Industrial Technology subjects at NSU for school year 2012-2013. In terms of the profile of the teachers, most of them were on the academic rank of Instructor. Many of the teachers were inclined to obtain graduate degrees. Most of the teachers lacked adequate trainings and seminars related to Information and Communication Technology. The teachers preferred to utilize ICT resources in instruction to the BSIT students. The study investigated levels of attainment of scientific literacy by junior secondary (8th grade) male and female students. Quasi-experiment of non- equivalent control group design was used. A total of 162 students were selected by purposive sampling of four coeducational schools out of twenty three in Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia state, Nigeria. In each of the four schools, an intact class was randomly selected. These were randomly assigned, two to experimental and control groups. Research questions were answered using mean and standard deviations and the hypotheses tested using ANCOVA. TOSL instrument for data collection had parts A and B. Reliability Coefficient of part A was established using Spearman rank order correlation and B using Kuder-Richardson formula 20(K-R). The internal consistencies were 0.69 and 0.72. International labor migration in the Philippines started to gain its popularity during Marcos’ regime due to severe economic depression and lack of opportunities brought about by Martial Law. Over the years, there have been a drastic increase in the number of Filipinos who work abroad. The enduring feature of Philippine development of sending Filipinos abroad led the Department of Education to develop a new curriculum that would equip graduates with an increase in the productivity of human capital in the global market. This study explored how the Philippine educational system shaped students’ orientation towards international labor migration and how it could be used to lessen the number of Filipinos who would want to become part of the diaspora community. An autoethnographic qualitative design was employed to gain an extensive and deeper cultural understanding of the phenomenon. Overall, results in this study indicated that people considered education as an investment and a rational thing to have to make oneself more employable. Participants believed that their education contributed to their current situation, but did not necessarily shape them towards labor migration. Instead, their propensity to migrate influenced their educational decisions. Interestingly, the core theme that resonated on how education can respond to the phenomenon is to develop and enhance a curriculum that focuses on civic education reorienting them of their duties and responsibilities as Filipinos. A new ideal citizen is also defined.

The Work Immersion program of the Department of Education, under the newly established educational curriculum – K to 12, is one of the key features of this educational innovation. The researcher of this study would like to evaluate the effectiveness and its impacts to the students of John J. Russell Memorial High School, Sibul Springs, San Miguel, Bulacan.
The study used the semi-structured interviews with the help of the researcher-made instrument. The said instrument is merely made by open-ended questions; this type of questions will open a wider space for the students to express their feelings and to voice out their insights regarding the problem. Researcher-made instruments were given to the chosen respondents by means of random sampling under the probability or unbiased category. This kind of sampling procedure is one of the simplest form of collecting data.  The researcher used thematic analysis as a means to gain insight and knowledge from data gathered. The method enables the researcher to develop a deeper appreciation for the group or situation he is researching. Thus, the conclusion made by means of this analysis offered a wider, specific, attainable and reasonable recommendations.

From the fifteen (15) indicators on confidence "I can use ICT effectively in Teaching" got the highest weighted mean and described to be more confident, the average weighted mean of the confidence of pre-service teacher was 3.65 described to more confident. On the attitude of the pre-service teachers on ICT integration in teaching, the attitude statement "Technology is useful in managing students data such as attendance and grades got the highest weighted mean of 4.56 interpreted as strongly agree. The average weighted mean of the attitude of the pre-service teachers' on the integration of ICT in teaching is 3.91 interpreted as agree, therefore they have a positive attitude on ICT integration in teaching. As to the relationship of variables, between the profile and confidence and between profile and attitude, the profile in terms of age, sex and specialization has no significant relationship to the confidence and as well as to attitude of the pre-service teachers' in integrating ICT in teaching. On the other hand, the profile in term of the program of the respondents had a significant relationship with the confidence and attitude of pre-service teachers' on ICT integration to teaching, the confidence had a high significant relationship to their attitude.It is recommended that technical aspect of ICT be emphasized in instruction; provision of additional computers, ICT resources and other instructional technologies; provision of educational technology laboratory, instructors and students will integrate ICT in discussion or teaching demonstration. It is highly recommended that the model evolved from this study will be utilized by instructors teaching ICT subjects, not just in the NSU-College of Education but also with other colleges in the university.

This is a hands- on training lecture on digital tools and teaching pedagogy in a 21st century teaching-learning environment. The presentation has been used to share and train  more than 600 teachers, administrators and future teachers in Region 7, Philippines. This made possible by the programs and projects of University of San Jose Recoletos, Cebu City

This study determined the correlation of Comprehension Skills and Mathematical Ability of High School Students in Geometry of Naval School of Fisheries. The study utilized the descriptive correlation design as the main tool in data gathering technique. The profile of the respondents showed that female student-respondents in Geometry outnumbered the male respondents. Only few of the parent's occupation were government employee and majority belonged to private employee. Most of the respondents spent time in reading last only for 1 hour or less 2 hours. Some did not even read for an hour. The comprehension score of student-respondents were very low and results revealed they really lack comprehension skills for the reason that their average grade in English was very low. Time spent in solving mathematical problem is significant to average grade in Geometry and the comprehension at 0.05 level of significance and is discovered to be highly significant to the mathematical score at 0.01 level of significance. The average grade in Math, Geometry and Comprehension score were highly correlated with each other at 0.01 level of significance.

The study was conducted to determine the effects of educational television program exposure on Chemistry performance of the third year laboratory high school students of Naval State University. Employing the one shot survey design, 111 respondents in Chemistry were involved as subjects of this study. Almost two-thirds (58.4%) of the respondents were female. Their family's mean income posted at P11, 103.30. Generally, they obtained an average grade in General Science and average grade in Biology. They spent a mean of 1.97 hours in studying Chemistry subject. In terms of access to educational television facilities, a big proportion (94.6%) of the respondents owned television set. But only 43.2% had cable subscription. Only 45% watched educational TV shows through the cable channels. Five types of television shows were watched by the students. Most of them watched educational TV shows, but only one-half (52%) had watched Chemistry concepts in the ETV shows. The students revealed the following Chemistry topics as they watched ETV shows: atoms, matter, kinetic energy, chemical change,chemical reactions, elements and compounds, gas laws, solutions and mixtures, phases of matter, colloids, scientific notation, molecules, physical change, molarity and molality, laboratory apparatus, and electrolytes. During the first performance evaluation (pre-test), the student's overall total mean score posted at 14.49. Their performance was generally at average level. During the second performance evaluation (post-test), their overall total mean score posted at 17.26. Their performance was at highly average level. A highly significant difference was noted between the first and second evaluation performance of the students, except in the topics of Le Chatelier's principle of chemical equilibrium and the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Their performance ratings during the 2nd evaluation were significantly higher than the different topics in chemical change, chemical reaction and reaction kinetics. Among the profile variables tested, only the grade in General Science and grade in Biology found to be significantly related to Chemistry performance. Exposure to ETV programs was not significantly related to the students' Chemistry performance.

This study sought to find out the profile of graduates of the BSMT-Nautical Studies of the Naval State University, Naval, Biliran. Results revealed that the age of the respondents ranged from 21 to 39 years old with an average age of 27.37. Most of them graduated during the school years 2003-2004 and 2004-2005. Nearly two percent and more than 31% passed the Chief Mate and Officer In Charge of Navigational Watch (OIC-NW) board examinations, respectively. The most number of graduates were employed but held a contractual position where most of them being assigned as quartermaster. On the average, it took 6.62 months for the respondents to find jobs. Their work experience was mostly of an ordinary seaman. Some of the graduates pursued further studies but mostly took short-term courses. Most of them were promoted to quartermaster and a great number worked along field of specialization. Based on the evaluation of the graduates themselves and their supervisors, the skills of the former were found to be " very much relevant " to the occupational skills needed in the labor market. As to the association between the skills and job performance of the graduates, (Third Mate) a moderately small positive correlation existed which meant that their skills did not influence or affect the level of their job performance.

This study assessed the awareness in mathematical symbols and algebraic expressions of freshmen students in Naval State University. Employing the descriptive-survey design, there were 150 respondents who answered the questionnaires and also evaluated through a test of their mathematical symbols comprehension skill and ability on assessing algebraic expression.The respondents' profile revealed that most of them are female with an average age of 17 years old in which they are expected to think abstractly, ideally, logically and presumed to possess skills on recognition symbols according to Piaget, but showed a weak symbolic thinking greatly influenced by their biological build up. Although they did not exhibit a very good level of understanding of algebraic expression, they were still successful in manipulating this competency, because knowing algebraic expression does not require deeper recognition of the symbol itself. It was found that a significant relationship existed between the respondents' profile and their comprehension skill of mathematical symbols. It was recommended that curriculum, instructional materials and teaching strategies should be designed in accordance to gender equality since Mathematics was found to be one of the male-dominated subjects and those factors contributory to the weakness of the female group in this area could be addressed.

The main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of Mathematics anxiety and the academic performance of the students at the Naval State University. The data were gathered through the questionnaire from the 200 student-respondents. More than three-fourths or 82.5 percent of the students' involved in the study aged between 16 and 18 years old. Almost one-half or 48.5 percent of the students was rated " Good " as school grades in Mathematics; 86 percent had favorable attitude towards Mathematics; 44 percent from the total number of students were from the College of Engineering (COE) and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). The remaining 42 percent were from the College of Industrial Information and Communication Technology (CIICT) and College of Maritime Education (COME). More than one-half or 64.5 percent of the students have Average Anxiety. Highest Percentage of 18.5 percent from COE,17.5 percent from COME, 16 percent from CAS, and 12.5 percent from CIICT. Topping among the other Colleges was the College of Engineering (COE) when it comes to mathematics performance, 17 % of them were rated as " Satisfactory ". Majority of the teachers (79.5 %) were democratic in their approach in teaching Mathematics. None of the teachers from the CIICT department used autocratic approach. Other teachers from other Colleges used Democratic, sometimes autocratic or a combination of both.

The study assessed the conflict management among identified state universities in Region VIII during school year 2014 – 2015. A total of 130 administrators and 254 teachers from randomly sampled state Universities in Region VIII served as respondents. Most of the administrator – respondents were females, married, with a doctorate degree, have a salary range of 20 – 29k, designated as director/ manager, with 1 – 3 dependents and had been in the service for quite a long time; while the teacher respondents are females, married, with master's degree, receiving a low salary, with an academic rank of instructor, having 1 – 3 dependents and have been in the teaching service for quite a long time. There was a high level of skills of school administrators in managing conflicts between administrators and teacher, teacher and teacher, teacher and student as well as student and student as revealed by the teacher – respondents. The teachers perceived that the degree of teamwork among teachers and administrators was high. There was a significant positive relationship between the management skills and the degree of teamwork among teachers and administrators. Among other things, findings of this study underscored the need for both teachers and administrators sustain or even maximize the development of management skills in order to empower them with the skills in managing conflicts.

The study primarily aimed to determine the influence of school heads' instructional competencies on the teachers' management behavior in Leyte division, Philippines. The descriptive-correlational design was adopted with the use of survey questionnaire as the tool in data gathering. The teacher's performance for the last three years was very satisfactory. The level of instructional competence of the school heads fell on the competent category. In professional competency, the school heads evaluated their teachers very competently. The school heads showed the competence in motivating their teachers. The management behavior of the school heads was highly effective. In the areas key processes and core components, the school heads were highly effective. The instructional competencies of the school heads did not relate or affect their management behavior.

This study ascertained the status of internationalization of the College of Education of Naval State University using the rubric in gauging the level of internationalization of TEIs in the Philippines developed by Balagtas et.al. (2012). It assessed on the status of internationalization in four domains in teacher education and nine domains. The four domains are: 1. Knowledge Creation and Application; 2.) Quality and Excellence; 3.) Culture of Sharing and Service; and 4.) Growth, Efficiency, and Accountability. The nine domains of internationalization in Higher Education Institutions are: 1) Curriculum and Instruction; 2.) Facilities and Support System; 3.) Cooperation and Development Assistance; 4.) Diversity Income Generation; 5.) Research Collaboration; 6.) International and Intercultural Understanding/Networking; 7.) Academic Standards and Quality; 8.) Mobility and Exchanges for Students and Teachers Recruitment. Findings disclosed that none from the four domains of teacher education and the nine dimensions of internationalization are internationalized to a very great extent and great extent. Nevertheless, the knowledge creation and application and growth, efficiency and accountability are internationalized to a little extent; quality and excellence is internationalized to some extent; yet, not at all internationalized on the culture of sharing and service. For the dimensions of internationalization, the facilities and support system is internationalized to a great extent; the curriculum and instruction is internationalized to some extent. The research collaboration and the diverse income generation are not at all internationalized and the rests of the six dimensions are rated to a little extent.

This study was aimed at determining the students analytical thinking skills and teachers' instructional practices in algebra in selected state universities and colleges in region VIII. Specifically it sought to determine the socio-demographic profile of the students, their performance in Algebra, teachers' instructional practices in Algebra, socio demographic profile of the teachers teaching Algebra; and to determine the relationship between these variables. Data gathering was done through a survey questionnaire designed for the purpose, and statistical treatment of data utilized the frequency, percentage, and mean; and the Pearson Product-Moment Coefficient of Correlation and the Chi-square Test for the test of hypotheses. The socio-demographic profile of the students respondents highlighted that majority of the respondents were males; 16 years old; parents have a low average income and average rating of good both in Mathematics and Algebra. Characteristics of the student-respondents highlighted that majority of the undergraduate students were females and single; the greatest majority had not taken any Mathematics subject; and all had not taken any Statistics or Research subject. On the other hand, majority of the graduate students were females and married; all had taken Mathematics subjects; only a few had taken Statistics subject; and the greatest majority had taken Research subjects. Both the undergraduate and graduate students generally had positive attitudes towards Statistics and had sufficient knowledge in both descriptive and inferential statistics.
