Institusi pendidikan tahfiz di Malaysia semakin mendapat perhatian sama ada di kalangan masyarakat mahupun pihak pemerintah. Namun di sebalik kewujudan madrasah atau maahad tahfiz tersebut timbul beberapa isu yang yang berkait. Oleh itu kajian kecil ini dijalankan bagi meninjau isu-isu berkaitan dan seterusnya membuat beberapa cadangan bagi menangani isu-isu tersebut. Kajian yang dijalankan ini adalah menggunakan kaedah analisis kes dan temubual dari responden yang terdiri dari pegawai Jabatan Agama Islam dan Pengetua atau Mudir pusat tahfiz. Maklumat dan data yang diperolehi adalah berdasarkan sumber autoriti iaitu data Jabatan Agama Islam Negeri. Selain itu sumber surat khabar juga menjadi salah satu rujukan terutama isu-isu berkaitan. Kemudian maklumat dan data tersebut diolah dan disimpulkan berdasarkan analisis kes yang diperolehi dengan melihat kekurangan dari sudut peruntungan undang-undang dan pelaksanaan yang timbul sama ada dari pihak umara' (pemerintah) mahupun pusat-pusat tahfiz itu sendiri. Di akhir penulisan, pengkaji mengemukakan beberapa cadangan agar institusi tahfiz di negeri Johor mempunyai piawaian standart sama ada dari sudut hafazan, kurikulum, pengurusan dan hala tuju institusi dan pelajar.

This type of research can be classified as field research, descriptive qualitative in order to know the quality of tahfiz learning design in Khoiru Ummah Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The method used is qualitative method with interview and documentation technique. The result of the research shows that Khoiru Ummah Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta has concern for the quality of tahfiz learning design and this has been proven by several awards produced by the school. Khoiru Ummah Integrated Islamic Elementary School even got a good predicate from the community in akhlaq, the quality competence of tahfiz learning design in the implementation of elementary school management since the establishment of Khoiru Ummah Integrated Islamic Elementary School 6 years ago.
