Mind Over Matter

We used a new method to test whether subjects could influence the activity of a distant random event generator (REG). In a pilot study, participants selected for their strong motivation and capacity to control their mental activity were requested to alter the functioning of a REG, located in a laboratory approximately 190 km so as to achieve a deviation of ± 1.65 standard scores from the expected mean, during sessions lasting approximately 90 seconds. The predefined cutoff was achieved in 78% of 50 experimental sessions compared to 48% of the control sessions. This study was replicated with a pre-registered confirmatory study involving thirty-four participants selected according the same criteria as in the pilot study. Each participant contributed three sessions completed in three different days giving a total of 102 sessions. The same number of control sessions was carried out. The percentage of the experimental sessions which achieved the predefined cutoff was 82.3% out of 102, compared to 13.7% for the control ones. We discuss the opportunities for exploiting this method as a mental telecommunication device.

This article argues that psi demonstrates the nonlocal hyperdimensional dynamics of our Self, operating via the tachyonic syg-energy (postulated by the Infinite Spiral Staircase Theory, ISST), and it gives a specific model for visualization and its application in healing or bio-PKboth implying mind-over-matter and an influence on future events. The Retrocausal Attractor blends quantum retrocausality and Chaos Theory's attractor dynamics to show how visualized (projected) ideas/images have an organizing impact through a feedback loop between the (future) events-in-making/situationsaccessed via the beyond-spacetime hyperdimension (HD) and the operator's mind. Moreover, the Retrocausal Attractor's feedback loop, between one's HD Self and one's embodied mind, is a basic dynamics of thought and reflection, which sets a hyperdimensional correction mechanism built-in the mind that allows us to have awareness and ethical conscience. Syg-energy (that drives psi) consists in HD and faster-than-light (FTL) sygons waves; it works according to HD semantic parameters, such as semantic proximity and intensity, which are driven by attraction, resonance and harmony, and defy both C and locality along a Law of harmonic syg-attraction. Finally, I'll tackle how the hyperdimension may interact with Quantum-Spacetime (QST) to effect the (healing) reorganization of complex (bio)systems, invoking the hypothesis that Bohm's Quantum Potential (and thus Pilot Waves) could be a hyperdimensional term or rather wave.

Five groups of anomalies regarding spacetime laws reveal ‘beyond spacetime’ processes and point to a meta region of the universe that would accommodate them. They are (1) the nonlocality in entanglement, (2) nonlocality in psi processes; (3) a subquantum (sub-Planckian) region at the origin of the universe (preceding the emergence of matter, space, and time), as well as at the subquantum scale in general; (4) a non-material ‘dark energy’ filling the cosmos; and (5) speeds breaking the speed of light C during the inflation phase. Moreover, the connective and/or semantic properties of these anomalies rule out a quantum vacuum or quantum mechanics (QM) explanation as well. Such a ‘beyond spacetime’ region, in cosmology, has to be modeled as a hyperdimension (HD). The Infinite Spiral Staircase Theory (ISST, Hardy 2015) posits a triune hyperdimension—of hyperspace, hypertime and consciousness—, that allows all five anomalies while laying a cogent grounding for meaningful (semantic) interconnectedness and mind-over-matter influences as exhibited both by psi and by the connective dynamics of mind and consciousness in Semantic Fields Theory.

Many experiments have been conducted over the past eight decades to explore whether the ostensible psychic ability of psychokinesis (PK, or "mind over matter") might be a genuine human potential, and the most extensive of these have involved attempts to mentally influence the output of electronic, binary-bit random number generators (RNGs). Research of this type can generally be divided into two lines: proof-oriented (concerned with the accumulation and statistical evaluation of data from controlled experiments designed specifically to test for the presence of PK effects on the microscopic scale) and process-oriented (concerned with conducting exploratory experiments designed to systematically vary certain test conditions in order to search for and identify any physical, biological, and psychological factors which might have a role in improving or moderating PK effects). To help orient novice investigators and cross-disciplinary researchers who may be considering work along these lines (as well as to offer some initial guiding insight on possible directions for future research), this paper provides a general review of some of the notable proof-and process-oriented findings that have been obtained to date in experimental microscopic PK research using RNGs. The review generally indicates that although a considerable amount of proof-oriented data for micro-PK has accumulated over the years, the relatively sparse amount of process-oriented data available at present leaves many open questions regarding the underlying factors involved, providing ample opportunity for novice investigators and cross-disciplinary researchers to make valuable research contributions in the future.

Many scientists have come to believe that any true unification model in physics must include a concept of consciousness as well as a model for the mind that interprets the external physical/material world. And, that number is growing. This particular physical model does just that. In fact it goes much further. Since Beichler's single field model includes a physical model of the neural net and explains how Mind and Consciousness can emerge from the physics of living organisms, it assimilates more intuitive models such as Andrews' 0-D point Void which witnesses and co-creates higher-dimensional Riemannian geometrical realities as well as other more generalized physical models of consciousness to form a truly synergistic model of reality. This synergistic model goes well beyond the notion of Mind and Consciousness as mere perceivers and interpreters of the external material/physical world. It clearly demonstrates that the precursors to our experience of Consciousness are fundamental elements and active participants in creating the physical world that we perceive and scientifically interpret through the application of physics. Andrews' intuitive approach to consciousness science It is well known that intuitives are often the very people who intimately experience first-hand knowledge of consciousness. Their views of consciousness and the inner workings of the world in general greatly differ from those of ordinary people and especially scientists. Even the word 'intuition' has been looked down upon in science as recently as a few decades ago. Scientists consider their own worldview above reproach, believing their insights are based upon acute observations of the external world around them. In general, scientists have historically looked down upon all types of intuitive knowledge and have obstinately refused to consider intuitive knowledge of consciousness and how it works in relation to the world as a whole. They view intuitive data with suspicion as no more than anecdotal evidence, without any scientific validity. Yet that evidence or data, anecdotal or not, can provide valid observations of consciousness and how consciousness works in the world at large. So to those few scientists willing to seriously consider information from intuitives, it can seem as though conservative scientists are wrong on this issue, as well as overly biased by acting completely in an unscientific manner within the broader meaning of science itself. Keeping this in mind, it is both interesting and informative to consider insights brought forward by Sperry Andrews whose undergraduate degree in science has been enhanced as a Near Death Experiencer (NDEr) from the age of four, nearly sixty years ago. Andrews has proposed a speculative bottom-up theory of everything in physics originating from nothing, including how top-down theories, such as general relativity and quantum mechanics, might approximate Jim Beichler's single field theory as well as theoretical models that posit a consciousness space or universe. The thought of parallel universes is often relegated to the realms of science fiction. Despite some astrophysicists developing intricate theories about multiverses, they don't appear to apply to our daily life on Earth, and we don't give them too much thought. Reality seems to be one, and only one. So we focus on it, as if there were nothing else to worry about. But what if this world is not what it seems? What if reality is actually much more complex than what we see? How would your life change if you knew that the world you perceive is just one option among many other available options, and that you see it, and not any of the others, because it is the one that you are choosing to perceive? There is a volume of evidence supporting the fact that our thoughts actually affect matter, but the mechanism behind this, and why this happens, is completely unknown. This is probably because we are seeing this all from the wrong paradigm. The " one reality " linear model currently held by most people and scientists is full of failures and paradoxes. It seems to be like that, the same way that the Earth seemed to be a plane and the other celestial bodies seemed to rotate around it. But now we know that appearances can trick us, and this can be the biggest example of it.

The scientific community believes in the theory of evolution with a passion that rivals that of any religious belief. This passion extends beyond the irrefutable evidence of the fossil record to the familiar claims of survival of the fittest and random mutation. Yet the theory of natural selection has, to the knowledge of the present author, never been tested against the alternative hypothesis that evolution is, in fact, the ongoing development of a single, world-spanning super-organism. Just what kind of evidence would settle this question is not clear, so this paper is intended to begin the discussion. It does so by suggesting how a new, quantitative theory of pragmatic information, first presented in Weinberger (2002), might detect the widespread temporal and inter-species connections that a developmental view of evolution would imply.

The meta-analysis of Intangible Brain-Machine Interaction (IMMI) data with random number generators (RNG's) (Bösch, 2006) is re-evaluated through the application of rigorous and recognized mathematical tools. The current analysis shows that the statistical average of the true RNG-IMMI data is not shifted from chance by direct mental intervention, thus refuting the IMMI hypothesis. A facet of this general statistical behavior of true RNG-IMMI data is the statistical balancing of scores observed in IMMI tests where binary testing conditions are adopted. The actual dynamics that had been supporting the elusive IMMI effect are shown to be related to the psychology of experimenters. The implications of the refutation of the IMMI hypothesis especially on associated phenomena are also discussed.

The perennial nature of some of philosophy’s deepest problems is a puzzle. Here, one problem, the realism–anti-realism debate, and one type of explanation for its longevity, are examined. It is argued that realism and anti-realism form a dialetheic pair: While they are in fact each other’s logical opposite, nevertheless, both are true (and both false). First, several reasons why one might think such a thing are presented. These reasons are merely the beginning, however. In the following sections, the dialetheic conclusion is directly argued for by showing how realism and anti-realism satisfy Priest’s “inclosure schema”. In the last section and the conclusion, the conscious mind’s role in creating realism and anti-realism is dis- cussed. This role further supports the conclusion that realism and anti-realism form a dialetheic pair.

We investigate to what extent it is possible to determine a reasonable default pragmatic value of complex sentences in a compositional manner, and --when combined with a Boolean semantics --to see under which conditions it gives rise to reasonable predictions. We discuss several notions of pragmatic value, or relevance, and compare their behavior over complex sentences. Although the goal-oriented notions of relevance give rise to the same ordering relations between propositions,the conditions under which they behave 'compositionally' vary significantly.

Is our Consciousness a Holographic Construct of Parallel Multiverses?

The full panorama of an uncannily number of recorded anomalous, and subjective human experiences, over millennia, demands to be seriously considered for their inherent value in developing a whole, non-myopic science, where Newtonian-objective and Goethean-subjective parameters weigh equally. Baruss and Heim’s independent treatises on the Multiverse concept and Talbot’s Holographic Universe, (developed from the work of Aspect and expanded upon by Bohm), all elucidate a clearer understanding of this Consciousness phenomena.

Current objective science requires us to repeat experiments to drive forward the theories of our universe. To do this, the scientist must remain impartial, detached, and nonexistent in the "experiment".  Millions have NDEs, past life memories, apparitions, etc., yet those once-in-a-lifetime, non-repeatable events cannot be used in furthering science, as we know it. J. Long recently gathered 9000+ NDEs; even in 1505 lies a data point, Hieronymus Bosch painted in exquisite detail the NDE being manifested today. NDEs also have similarities to UFO, abduction reports, etc. Do we just continue to ignore the vast amount of one-time, non-repeatable subjective experiences, or do we begin to go forward to build a valid science of the subjective taking into account those subjective experiences in their individualistic totality across time and space?

ABSTRACT With the rise of modern medicine, spiritual approaches to cop- ing with pain and understanding distress have been largely aban- doned. However, there is sufficient empirical evidence available that shows the importance of spiritual experiences, beliefs and practices for self- and pain perception as well as coping. Hence, this paper ar- gues that the assessment of patients' spirituality, acknowledgment of the effects of and e_ects upon pain, and utilization of pluralist resources to accommodate patients' spiritual needs reflect our most current understanding of the physiological, psychological and socio- cultural aspects of spirituality and spiritual experiences (regardless of religious or secular expression).

The “subjective reduction” interpretation of measurement in quantum physics proposes that the collapse of the wave-packet, associated with measurement, is due to the consciousness of human observers. A refined conceptual replication of an earlier experiment, designed and carried out to test this interpretation in the 1970s, is reported. Two improvements are introduced. First, the delay between pre-observation and final observation of the same quantum event is increased from a few microseconds in the original experiment to one second in this replication. Second, rather than using the final observers’ verbal response as the dependent variable, his early brain responses as measured by EEG are used. These early responses cover a period during which an observer is not yet conscious of an observed event. ABSTRACT In 2012, Hermann Haken, mathematician and physicist, turned 85 years. He became internationally well-known for his contributions in laser physics, solid-state physics, and statistical physics. The interpretation of the laser as a self-organizing system far from equilibrium initiated the fruitful interdisciplinary �eld of synergetics which he founded and established in the 1960s. The following conversation with Hermann Haken took place in February 2013 at Stuttgart University, his academic home since more than half a century. The interview was conducted by Wolfgang Tschacher, one of Haken's long-time collaborators, and Claudia Bergomi, both at the University of Bern.

Many previous treatments of voluntary behavior have viewed intentions as causes of behavior. This has resulted in several dilemmas, including a dilemma concerning the origin of intentions. The present article circumvents traditional dilemmas by treating intentions as constraints that restrict degrees of freedom for behavior. Constraints self-organize as temporary dynamic structures that span the mind-body divide. This treatment of intentions and voluntary behavior yields a theory of intentionality that is consistent with existing findings and supported by current research.
