Postmigrantisches Theater

Статья посвящена поиску взаимосвязей между репрезентациями социального опыта мигрантов в театральных постановках и той институциональной позицией, которую занимают берлинские и московские театры, обращающиеся к миграционной проблематике. В основу исследования легли глубинные интервью с участниками проектов «Winterreise», «The Situation» (Театр имени Максима Горького), «Come as You Are» (Dock 11) в Берлине; «Акын-опера» (Театр.doc) и «Сван» (Центр им. Мейерхольда)-в Москве. Тот факт, что в центре внимания немецкого и российского обществ находятся разные типы миграции-вынужденная в первом случае и трудовая во втором-не может не сказываться на художественных репрезентациях. Однако в обоих контекстах рассматриваются спектакли, в которых были задействованы артисты с профессиональным бэкграундом. Основной тезис статьи состоит в том, что если в Германии постановки с мигрантами и о мигрантах в значительной степени предопределены тем, что театрам делегируется роль политического форума, то в России наблюдается скорее обратное. Пример «Акын-оперы» показал, что попытка театра выступить триггером для активизации гражданских инициатив и вовлечения в эти инициативы мигрантов не стала успешной по целому ряду при-чин. Констатируя такое положение вещей, автор намеренно воздерживается от нормативных оценок и обсуждения исследуемых спектаклей в категориях «успешности». Проведенные интервью показывают, что высокая степень политизации немецких театров не является самоочевидной ценностью для артистов с миг-рационным бэкграундом при всем уважении последних к промигрантской позиции, которую эти театры транслируют в публичное пространство. Что касается России, то, несмотря на то, что «Акын-опера» не стала «мостом» между неравнодушными горожанами и мигрантскими сообществами, этот проект имел неожиданные для его участников последствия. Те из них, кто являются профессиональными артиста-ми, хотя и не получили возможность вернуться к основному ремеслу, тем не менее смогли повысить свой статус в диаспоральной среде и утвердиться в качестве артистов для определенного сегмента российской публики. Кроме того, «Акын-опера» стала беспрецедентным документальным свидетельством о жизни трудовых мигрантов в Москве.

This article looks at the connections between Europe and Turkey for telling migrant and postmigrant stories on the Turkish stage. It includes a thesis that Turkey is increasingly becoming important, not only for its emigration of artists to Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands or the UK, but also for its role in a growing network of postmigrant theatre and EU-supported theatre projects. Question is how this challenges Turkey in its present cultural and economic conjuncture to come to terms with its own complex migration histories.

Nach Hans-Thies Lehmann kann postdramatisches Theater als eine Konzeptualisierung von Kunst nicht als Repräsentation, sondern als Erfahrung des Realen (Zeit, Raum, Körper) verstanden werden (Lehmann: Postdramatisches Theater, 1999, S. 241ff). Außerdem weisen die Körperzentriertheit und die performativen Verflechtungen von Ritual-(Theater)Kunst-Realität in postdramatischen Formen stark auf ältere bzw. außereuropäische performative/rituelle Theaterformen hin. In diesem Zusammenhang schlägt Lehmann in Pia Janke / Teresa Kovacs (Hg.): „Postdramatik“. Reflexion und Revision eine „stärker transkulturell orientierte Betrachtungsweise“ vor. Er betont, dass „das dramatische Theater Europas eine Sonderentwicklung“ sei, weshalb ihm „die Relativierung des spezifisch europäischen Theatermodells durch transkulturell orientierte Forschung überaus wichtig“ erscheine (Janke / Kovacs, 2015, S. 45). Die Tagung eruiert die ästhetische und wissenschaftliche Reichweite dieser Sachlage.

In 2006 the premiere of Feridun Zaimoglu and Günter Senkel’s play Black Virgins (Schwarze Jungfrauen) became the first play by a Turkish-German writer to feature on the front cover of Germany’s influential theatre magazine, Theater heute (Theatre Today). Black Virgins consists of interview-based monologues of Muslim women reworked into Zaimoglu’s “artistic language” and has generally been received as “semi-documentary theatre.” However, the director of the premiere, Neco Çelik, claims that Black Virgins “should not be read in a documentary [...] manner.” This is reflected in the use of references to science fiction films, particularly Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of A Third Kind, in Çelik’s use of sound, costume and mise-en-scène.  Drawing on personal interviews with Çelik and Zaimoglu, as well as reviews, scripts and a video-recording of the premiere production, this article will explore the ways in which the intertextual, intermedial and transnational references to science fiction present in the premiere of Black Virgins provide a new mode of understanding this landmark production. It will argue that close attention to Çelik’s non-documentary articulation of Black Virgins can be used not only to shed new light on the play’s reception, but also to frame audiences’ “close encounter” with the Muslim woman in unexpected ways.

Die Migrationsforschung ist aktiv an der (Re-)Produktion gesellschaftlicher Dichotomisierungen zwischen »Migration« und »Sesshaftigkeit« und den damit einhergehenden Ethnisierungen beteiligt. Eine Abschaffung dieser Forschungsrichtung würde jedoch zur weiteren Unsichtbarmachung ihres Gegenstandes führen. Im Berliner "Labor Migration" wurde daher eine »Entmigrantisierung« der Migrationsforschung diskutiert, wodurch der Fokus weg von den migrantischen Subjekten und Räumen hin zu den Techniken und Institutionen ihrer Beherrschung gelenkt wird. Zugleich müsste aber die Gesellschaftsforschung »migrantisiert« werden, indem Migration ihren Sonderstatus ablegt und – analog zu Gender – in sämtliche Forschungsfelder interveniert, das heißt ihre gesellschaftstheoretische Relevanz geltend macht.
Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt sich die Frage, ob Begriffe und Konzepte von Mobilität für diese Zwecke geeignet wären. Zum einen fragt er danach, was welches Mobilitätskonzept für eine Entmigrantisierung der Rede über Migration und eine Normalisierung migrantischer Praxen leistet. Zum anderen wird die Frage diskutiert, inwiefern das Mobilitätsparadigma migrantisiert werden kann, indem die Rede über Mobilität aus einer Perspektive der Migration kritisch angeeignet wird.

„Rassismus und toxische Männlichkeit“ – mit diesen Vorwürfen gegen den Kurator Kaspar König versuchen sogenannte postmigrantische Künstler sich selbst in Szene zu setzen. Kaspar König diskutiert seit 2016 in den Münchner Kammerspielen unter dem Titel „König &“ mit Gästen über Kunst und Kulturpolitik. Am 12. November 2018 lädt König zur Diskussion um das Thema „Heimat und Rechtsradikalismus“ ein, als Gäste auf dem Podium die Künstler Henrike Naumann, Cana Bilir-Meier und Wilhelm Klotzek. Anschließend beschwert sich Bilir-Meier auf Facebook über den „most horrible talk with Kaspar König“. Der Abend sei „full of toxic masculinity, racism and violent power against me“ verlaufen. Toxische Männlichkeit, Rassismus und gewalttätige Macht: damit sind gleich drei der Begriffe gefallen, die als „Totschlagargumente“ in Debatten dieser Art geradezu reflexartig herausgeholt werden. Was nun folgt, ist ein Lehrstück über die Abläufe einer Hetzkampagne in den sogenannten sozialen und anderen Medien im Zeichen einer selbsternannten postkolonialen oder postmigrantischen Kunstszene.

This article examines the premiere production of Özdamar's first play 'Karagöz in Alamania' (written 1982, premiered 1986) through the lens of Ümmü, Karagöz's often disregarded female co-protagonist. It analyses the postdramatic uses of song and female voice in the form of operatic singing, bluesy jazz, and American pop in the premiere production, and so highlights the importance of taking the realization of Özdamar's plays in performance into account in an analysis of the role of gender in her work. In doing so it reveals that Özdamar as director, Sonja Theodoridou as actor, the character Ümmü as dreamer and performer, and the songs of Eartha Kitt as unexpected intertext work together within the 1986 production to reveal the extent to which the historical circumstances of labour migration created new, yet often restrictive, female roles for Turkish women to play in Germany. A postdramatic reading of the play thus moves us away from an analysis of the characters as figures with hybrid identities and towards a focus on a political reading of the female character's situation made possible by a transmedial aesthetic.

"In this paper, I develop a conceptual framework to look at audiences in post-migrant theatre productions that include music and the singing voice. I propose to extend the theory of aurality with a more historically and socially sensitive scope on the notion of community, which lays bare the cultural transactions and disjunctures that shape aurality today. The main aim of my current research is to pair sociological concepts with culturalist perspectives on identity issues
– which I term a ‘socio-aesthetic approach’ – to identify issues that would be later tested against policy analysis and in-depth interviews. At the centre of my inquiry, I critically reread Schafer’s pivotal notion of the ‘acoustic community’ in soundscape theory through other, philosophical notions of community, such as Nancy’s ‘inoperative community’, Agamben’s ‘the coming community’ and Blanchot’s ‘unavowable community’, among others. I aim to conceptualise how  mixed audiences are much-contested sites of tension between listening cultures shaping the individual against the hegemony of norms, tastes and prejudices that surround formative definitions of community."

Neue Deutsche beanspruchen über formale Rechte hinausgehend gleichberechtigte Teilhabe und Zugang zu allen gesellschaftlichen Institutionen in Deutschland. Die sich selbst als "Neue Deutsche" bezeichnenden Individuen und Gruppen treten gegenwärtig vor allem in den Medien, der Literatur, dem Theater und der Zivilgesellschaft in die Öffentlichkeit. Zum einen lehnen sie die Markierung und Reduktion über das Beschreibungs- und Unterscheidungsmerkmal "Migrant_in" ab, zum anderen finden sie sich nicht auf der Grundlage einer (vermeintlich) gemeinsamen Abstammung, sondern aufgrund ihrer gesellschaftlichen Ziele zusammen.
