moreBefore the 11 th century, both Muslims and Turks had carried out military and political activities in Anatolia. From the 11 th century on, the influx and immigration of Muslim Turks into Anatolia turned
into systematic conquest movements especially after the Battle of Malazgirt. Along with these activities, various groups of Sufism in Iran, Iraq and Syria have begun to enter into Anatolia. These groups
contributed to the struggle of the Muslim Turks in Anatolia until the end of the 12 th century with the activities of jihad and colonization. In the 13th century, significant changes took place in the political,
military, economic, cultural and religious areas of Anatolia. It was also the same period that Sufism has been developing rapidly with its institutions, as demographic superiority has changed in favor of
Muslims. In this whole process, important events related to each other occurred in the spread and development of sufism in Anatolia. In this study, we will mention under which conditions Sufism entered
Anatolia during the 11th- 13th centuries. Then, we will explain the factors that facilitate the spread of Sufism in Anatolia.
