Each year millions of people around the globe are forcefully displaced from their homes, lands and livelihoods in order to make way for large-scale development projects. This has really been a great challenge for the nations to resettle and rehabilitate them and to mitigate their adverse impacts of involuntary displacements. A number of research have been conducted by various scholars with regard to such issues, and among them, Michael M. Cernea in his study has excellently mapped out the adverse impacts of involuntary displacement. His study says that the displaced people face a broad range of ‘impoverishment risks’ and ‘social exclusion’. But his study doesn’t explain the whole range of risks of the involuntary displaced people. The study on the displaced people of Kaptai dam, Bangladesh has shown that involuntary displacement not only leads to certain impoverishment risks and social exclusion, but also, it leads to loss of citizenship, statelessness and arms conflicts.

This chapter presents empirical and theoretical challenges to the theory that secularization begets toleration while society’s movement away from secularity leads to intolerance. Contradicting that theory, Soviet secularization ended the era of imperial toleration, aborted nascent religious freedom, and entailed relentless religious persecution. Yet, after the demise of communism, Russia’s desecularization brought about a combination of neo-imperial toleration with neo-Soviet repression. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s desecularization has generated a pluralistic and tolerant regime of interfaith and church-state relations. I argue that the Soviet case epitomizes revolutionary secularizations that have affected much of the world outside of the North Atlantic region. Secularization theory has marginalized the revolutionary cases. It thus has obscured the revolutionary, violent, and persecuting modality of secularization in the West itself and elsewhere.

L'héritage du vodou lie ensemble Haïti, le Bénin, le Togo et le Ghana à travers plusieurs éléments culturels parmi lesquels il faut inclure des cosmologies, philosophies, langues, thérapies médicales, habitudes culinaires, rites de passage, valeurs éthiques, normes esthétiques, conventions artistiques et technologies qui procurent à plusieurs communautés une identité commune et une grammaire théologique indispensable à leurs sociétés. constitution, it is not respected in practice. At the same time, Christianity is affected by the anti-religious communist traditions of the North Korean regime. According to the nationalist state ideology, Christians are
a foreign element in the country, and the religious cult of the Kim family, which leaves no room for other beliefs. When young Kim Jong-un (1984-) came to power and the country’s diplomatic activity intensified in 2018, many hoped that the situation of the North Korean population would improve, the country’s isolation from the world would ease, which would be beneficial for Christians. So far we have not seen any positive change and there is no indication that repression will ease in the future.
