In this paper, with linear regressions to investigate how relationships dissolution affects sexual attitudes and behaviors, the authors address the stereotype that newly single people seek multiple sexual partners. Although the newly single people surveyed did obtain new sexual partners, the rate at which they acquired new partners did not support the stereotype. Specifically, men with custody of their children seemed oriented towards finding a steady partner. Additionally, men and women with low incomes reported relatively high rates of partner acquisition after relationship dissolution. The high rates reported by disadvantaged groups may be more directly related to familial stability accompanying poverty than to cultural characteristics associated with income or race. We argue that a life stage model with categorical stages in a rigid, anachronistic progression provides insufficient means to gain an understanding of newly single people.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely prescribed therapeutic agents in dentistry for management of pain and inflammation. NSAIDs can cause side effects such as gastric ulceration, hepatic injury, and renal damage and can lead to increased internal bleeding. However, NSAIDS comprise of drugs with varying chemical composition and hence display different side effects. This case report describes a rarely reported side effect of ibuprofen in an otherwise healthy Libyan male of increased penile erection. However, the authors neither recommend the regular use of ibuprofen to improve the penile erection nor speculate that the administration of ibuprofen could improve the penile erection in all cases. Further research with well-designed studies is necessary to understand the effects of the Ibuprofen on male sexuality and sexual behaviour.

The current study aimed to explore the levels of attachment dimensions and common sex motives of call center workers (CCW) specifically in Cebu City, Philippines. It was the thrust of the study to provide a plausible account in understanding the sexual practices of CCWs amid the data suggesting risky practices among them. Both online and pen-and-paper surveys were employed. Descriptive results showed that call center workers in Cebu City are relatively high in attachment anxiety and low in attachment avoidance. Common sex motives of call center workers include intimacy and enhancement motives. Regression analysis showed that both attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance predicted partner approval, peer pressure, self-affirmation, coping, and intimacy motives. Implications of the findings of this exploratory study contribute to further our understanding about the sexual practices of CCWs in the Philippines.

This work focuses on the theme of “dysfunctional sexual behaviours” and in particular on clinical, psychopathological, and anatomy physiological elements, to fully understand the different grades of the behaviour under consideration: hypersexuality, persistent sexual arousal disorder, and sex addiction. The work is completed with an analysis of the etiological elements and the best treatments, emphasizing the clinical importance of the use of pornography in sexual addictions.

Abstract Concern has been raised that persons using anabolic-androgenic steroids (AASs) to enhance physique and performance may experience negative psychological effects. This review generates and evaluates theory-based hypotheses regarding AAS-mood and behavior associations at consumption and withdrawal. Emphasis is placed on moods and behaviors typically believed to change during these times (e.g., mood lability, irritability, euphoria, libido, aggression, self-esteem). Although some data suggest that affect and behavior differ while using and withdrawing from AASs, the nature of the relationships is unclear. Nondrug factors that may play a role in the moods and behaviors linked to AASs are identified and suggestions for future research are offered.

This analysis examines how sex behaviors are influenced by a sex partner’s network bridging position and the residential proximity between the two. The study sample consisted of 437 young black men who have sex with men (YBMSM) in Chicago and their sex partners (2013–2014). Dyadic analyses that clustered on individuals using generalized estimating equations (n = 1095 relationships) were conducted to assess the associations between different HIV-related sexual behaviors and the network position of and residential proximity to a partner. The odds of group sex was higher with partners who had high network bridging, regardless of how close they lived to one another. The odds of transactional sex was higher with partners who had high network bridging and lived in a different region of the city. Sex behaviors associated with an increased risk of HIV transmission were associated with the network structural position of and residential proximity to partners among YBMSM.
