Nowadays the traffic is increasing rapidly and traffic volume on roads exceeds the normal limit. The traffic conditions on Indian roads are highly heterogeneous in nature due to variety of vehicles with different static and dynamic characteristics. Study of various characteristics of road traffic is necessarily required for the planning, design and operation of roadway facilities. For a increased vehicular it requires better roadway infrastructure with higher capacity. For the capacity analysis of road it is quite difficult to estimate the traffic volume and capacity of roadway facilities under heterogeneous traffic condition. This paper discuss and review the Capacity estimation of roads under heterogeneous traffic condition by various authors and the factors influencing the capacity of roads and parameters affect the capacity of roads is reviewed and studied. This Paper can be used for analyzing different methods used for Capacity analysis of roads to improve the roadway and traffic condition.

While considering traffic management issues of Indian or any developing county's road situation Public transportation is most important factor. Traffic troubles in town areas increase due to rapid growth of population and with the rise in numbers of vehicles which result into excessive delays, travel times and reduction in speeds on urban road network. In order to reduce these problems there is a need for sustainable public transport system. Traffic quality parameters such as traffic flow, speed, travel time, delay time, stop time and fuel consumption need to analyze for the impact of BRT as compared to present day mixed traffic on traffic and commuter mobility. After many more researches experts mate one and same conclusion that Bus rapid transit (BRT) is the most suitable, cheap and advance way of public transportation. But before implementation of any new system or making changes in existing system we have to analyze influence of pros and cons to existing system. In this particular study we consider the same for BRT system implementation. Authors studied previous research works for BRT system and made one standard conclusion for new BRT system. These judgments can be used to form the basis for developing public transport corridor in present Indian traffic conditions.

Speed on the urban roads is significantly affected by the surrounding geometric and traffic parameters. Based on this fact, we ascertained the impact of the geometric and traffic parameters on the average travel speed of the urban roads network. Herein, 197 urban road segments in Johor (Malaysia) with diverse features were randomly selected. The average travel speed and volume of the traffic on these road segments were measured using the moving observer method (MOM). Meanwhile, these roads’ features were recorded via the direct visual inspection. Various geometric (density of the traffic calming speed, right-turn driveway, access, and right-turn) and cross-sectional (median, number of lanes, and side friction) parameters were considered. Research shows that vehicle speed affects the severity of all road crashes. Higher speed crashes involve more kinetic energy: the more energy that is dispersed in a crash, the more severe that crash will be. Speed also affects the likelihood of a crash occurring in the first place. The likelihood of a serious or fatal crash increases significantly even with small increases in vehicle speed. Field studies demonstrate that a one percent increase in mean average speeds results in a roughly two percent increase in the frequency of crashes involving injury, a three percent increase in severe crashes, and a four percent increase in deaths. The safety of infrastructure is heavily influenced by traffic speed, to the extent that without a detailed understanding of speed limits and vehicle operating speeds, it is difficult to assess the safety performance of infrastructure at a given location.
