Çalışan kadın özellikle kariyer gelişimleri açısından Türkiye ve Dünya'da cinsiyet ayrımcılığına dayalı engellerle karşılaşmaktadır. Kadınlar, bir çalışan olarak başarı ve yetkinlikleri ile objektif olarak değerlendirmek yerine sadece cinsiyet temelli engellere maruz kalabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada çalışma hayatındaki kadınların kariyerlerinde cinsiyet ayrımcılığına dayalı ne gibi sorunlarla karşılaştığı araştırılmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda, cinsiyet ayrımcılığının kadın yöneticilerin kariyerlerine etkisini belirlemek üzerine bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Bursa ilinde faaliyet gösteren işletmelerdeki kadın insan kaynakları yöneticileri ile yapılan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler sonucunda, kadın yöneticilerin kariyerlerinde doğrudan bir cinsiyet ayrımcılığı yaşamadıkları, ancak bir takım engellerle karşılaştıkları görülmüştür.
Working women have been faced obstacles based on gender discrimination in Turkey and in the world at the point of career development,. Women have been exposed to gender-based obstacles instead of evaluating objectively with their success and competence as an employee. In this study, gender discrimination problems faced by women in their business life are evaluated. The purpose of this study a research was conducted to determine the effect of gender discrimination on the careers of women managers. As a result of semi-structured interviews with women human resource managers in Bursa, it has been seen that women managers not experienced precisely gender discrimination in career management but meet with some obstacles.

Empowerment, the first ‘E’ of the paper is the buzz word in development world; most ambiguous and broad as it sounds. This is a paper on understanding gender empowerment in contemporary situation based on a case study of an individual layered with different factors of gender and tribe. Article 15 of Indian Constitution dictates that ‘the State shall not discriminate against any citizen on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex, and place of birth or any of them’. On the contrary the UNDP Human Development Report 2014 state that India categories as a medium human development country with Gender Inequality Index Value as 0.563 ranking 127 out 187 countries. In India discrimination against women is both explicit and implicit with explicit being more prominent and known. The implicit is entrenched in power relations and hierarchies. This type of discrimination is positioned in households as well as communities resulting from meta-factors of caste, class, resource ownership, ethnicity and religion coating on gender leading to extreme marginalization. However to move towards an egalitarian society with better socio-economic conditions, it is vital to work towards empowering women. Though concept of gender empowerment is ambiguous as stated, it is a journey and a continuous process towards attaining empowerment in itself. This paper is on a journey of a girl towards empowerment through education and employment which in itself is empowering. Their role in a life of a woman to help her question, explore and decide on precarious concerns related to self, family and beyond. It looks into the different components factoring to gender equality leading to social inclusion at certain conjunctures of self-identity, awareness, economic independence but still struggling with implicit ways of discrimination.

Poet and novelist Sylvia Plath (1932-1963), despite pressure from home and the job market, resisted learning Gregg shorthand or any form of rapid writing until 1959 when a desired clerical job required it. She then chose to learn Speedwriting, a modified longhand invented by shorthand instructor Emma Dearborn (1874-1937). Introduced in 1924, Speedwriting for the next 50 years was promoted in now-iconic ad campaigns as an alternative to symbolic shorthand systems such as Gregg. References to shorthand and dictation pervade Plath's novel The Bell Jar (1963) and form the basis of her breakthrough 1958 short story "Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams." Works that Plath herself noted as artistic breakthroughs followed on the heels of her stints as a clerical worker, suggesting that the office jobs she held between 1958 and 1961 set a creative dynamic in motion.

The focus of this work is on the formal construction of jokes within the popular form of entertainment, the televised workplace situation comedy. The narrative universe of a sitcom is a product of industry, and so it is created to have a mass appeal as well as to reinforce social norms. However, the smaller units of humor transmission within the sitcom, the jokes, enforce the reality of the constructed universe. What seems unremarkable to a character will seem absurd to an audience, and so the joke can be an instrument of challenging boundaries and social change.
Parallel to this analysis will be an exploration of the worlds created within these shows: how they operate and differ from our reality, how they reflect our society and in turn, how our society is informed by the power of these shared imaginary worlds. What is the impact on the collective imaginary and our relation to narratives when the barriers between them breech?
Specific objects of interest areThe Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970-1978), Murphy Brown (1988-1998), and 30 Rock (2006-2013). Despite the 40 year span of these works, each premise is centered around a white female protagonist living in a metropolitan area, balancing her domestic life with a career in the industry of television production. This dissonance of the boundary crossing examined is reflected in the shows within these shows (a live local news show, a weekly news magazine, and live variety show, respectively) revealing the both liberating and limiting act of constructing an aesthetic object that must present as authentic and authoritative.

Purpose – The purpose of this study was to understand if productivity and turnover of the female millennial knowledge workers was influenced by participative management theory. Developing a greater understanding
for maximizing the productivity and minimizing turnover risks associated with the significant population of female millennial knowledge workers could contribute towards business success.
Design/methodology/approach – This qualitative embedded single-case study used triangulation to develop a more complete look at the female millennial knowledge worker within an organization while utilizing a method that allowed for maximizing the understanding of a common case.
Findings – While triangulating across three modes of data collection “employee development” was identified in connection with both productivity and turnover. “Timely communication” was associated with productivity, and both “feedback” and “working environment” triangulated with turnover.
Research limitations/implications – This study extends existing participative management theory, limited by a majority focus, to include the female millennial knowledge worker.
Practical implications – The results of this study showed that managers should provide development opportunities and timely feedback to female millennial knowledge workers in support of their productivity. In
addition, employee development, timely feedback and a positive work environment could be used by managers to minimize turnover in this population.
Originality/value – The risk of alienating the population of female millennial knowledge workers could result in turnover and productivity challenges for businesses. The results of this study showed that managers should engage in employee development, timely feedback and cultivate a positive work environment to minimize turnover and increase the productivity of this population.

The effective utilization of available resources is a pivotal factor for production levels in modern business environments. However, when resources are limited or in excess, this effects organizational success, as well as the labor market.

Desde 1980 la presencia de la mujer en el mercado de trabajo japonés ha experimentado un incremento sustancial a nivel cualitativo y cuantitativo. Sin embargo, esta mayor participación no se ha correspondido con una mejora de sus condiciones de trabajo. Aunque esta circunstancia no es exclusiva del sistema de empleo japonés, las diferencias con procesos similares en Europa y América hacen del japonés un caso representativo de la dificultad de desarrollar políticas de igualdad de oportunidades y trato entre géneros en el empleo, no tanto por la crisis económica padecida a los largo de la década de 1990, sino a causa de un entorno organizacional donde la cultura patriarcal determina tanto las condiciones como las relaciones laborales. A este respecto, la igualdad jurídica entre trabajadoras y trabajadores es socavada por prácticas discriminatorias que desencadenan un continuo conflicto cultural durante el ciclo laboral de la mujer japonesa.

Abstract
Women in the workplace have an essential role in advanced and emerging economies. Women have shown courage, enthusiasm and passion in every occupation. They have the growth mindset to develop their career despite the challenges they may face. They work hard to keep work-life balance. Women in the Health and Safety profession are no exemption.

I spent the last quarter of 2020 to develop this evidence-based research, exploring women in the health and safety profession, their skillset, their passions, and their concerns. I interviewed several female highly recognised Health and safety professional, and leaders of both genders. In this research note, I discuss how soft skills surpass technical skills to be influential and achieve the credibility that female H&S professional needed as a recipe for success.

A worthy man who dedicated his life to the welfare of children, Dr. J. Calvitt Clarke (1887-1970) was one of the twentieth century’s most successful charitable fundraisers. Clarke had a second life of exceptional merit. He was a successful author, publishing many novels and short stories. He never published this manuscript.
“Love in the Mist,” is a fragment of a longer romance novel.  Even in these relatively few words from the manuscript's beginning, Clarke established a few themes that he likely expanded in subsequent pages. He wrote in the third person and from a feminine — even feminist — point of view. Drudgery and poor pay mark his heroine’s office work as a stenographer. Clarke also critiqued the problems women face in male-dominated offices, where youth and beauty trump years of proven competency, and older single women, removed from their jobs, slip into unemployment and poverty.

Many women who were displaced during the People’s War have sought employment in Nepal’s entertainment sector due to vulnerabilities created by the conflict. This bog post brings attention to these forgotten survivors and questions the role of the WPS agenda in addressing their needs.

American women's daily life before the Industrial Revolution revolved around the home no matter what the woman's status in life might have been in society. With the coming of the Industrial Revolution and with the mechanization of activities in the home, women's lives were transformed but their work at home was not reduced; rather "mechanization" did not "free" women to work outside the home, instead American women entered the labor force because families needed two income households. Mechanization brought to women the ability to hold down two jobs---the one outside the home and the one inside the home.  This short paper discusses some of the ramifications for men, children, and especially for women that has mostly been ignored by historians.
