The new technologies are enabling organizations to be flatter, networked, and more flexible. Organizations in the 21st century inevitably make substantial investments in Information Technology (IT) in order to achieve competitive advantage, by spending enormous sums of money on computer hardware, software, communication networks, databases and specialized personnel. Consequently, Information Technology is not exclusive to the workplace but has also become widespread in public areas and houses. The main objective of this study is to determine factors influencing the adoption and impact of online social networks use in terms of performance among employees within Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) in Abu Dhabi. This study collected data through quota nonprobability sampling, and 401 valid responses were received. Structural Equation Modelling-Variance based (SEM-VB) through partial least squares (PLS) method to analyse the research model using the software of SmartPLS 3.0. Although various limitations exist, the findings have been encouraging, as it has managed to shed some lights on new variables affecting the use of online social networks. This study proposed an extended model of the Unified Theory of Acceptance & use of Technology (UTAUT) and found that three variables play an important role to determine the performance impact of online social networks namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and actual usage. The findings of this study can provide policymakers with important insights on how to more successfully incorporate online social networks to improve performance and the services of public sector, and how to encourage top managers to ensure that employees are more likely to utilize new technologies and thereby enabling better work outcome, wider reach of services, gives employees more control over their daily tasks and enhances their performance.

This study explores the online users’ behavioral intention to utilize the governments’ websites and their electronic services. The research methodology validates the measuring items from the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) to better understand the participants’ attitudes toward their performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social norms, facilitating condition and behavioral intention to use the electronic government (e-gov) services. The findings from the structural equations modeling approach reported a satisfactory fit for this study’s research model. The results suggest that there were highly significant, direct effects from the UTAUT constructs, where the utilitarian motives predicted the online users’ behavioral intentions to use e-gov. Moreover, there were significant moderating influences from the demographic variables, including age, gender and experiences that effected the individuals’ usage of the governments’ online services. In conclusion, this contribution identifies its limitations and suggests possible research avenues to academia.

As the times progressed, so many features of smartphones that are developed by producers in manufactures. Hardware and software are fused to deliver comfort and increase the productivity of users' smartphone. The example of software that can help users for a convenient transaction is Alipay and Wechat Pay, a China's third-party mobile and online payment platform developed by Alibaba group and Tencent respectively. This research aimed to observe expats' motives in the use of Chinese third-party online payment platform with the sample was some foreign students in Nanjing as the Alipay users. Based on Unified Theory and Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) which consists four key constructs (effort expectancy, performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions), the results found that behavioral intentions were significantly carried out by effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and facilitating conditions, while social influence factors were found to be insignificant.

India is standing in the cusp of technology revolution where e-commerce is currently experiencing a period of rapid development. With the high penetration rate of internet users, Internet is becoming an integral part of user's lifestyle mainly of its urban population. The changing lifestyles have increased the reliance on the Internet for their shopping needs as it offers the convenience of shopping from the comfort of one's home and offers a wide product assortment to choose from. However, the benefits offered and the adoption rates of e-commerce, as predicted by various surveys, indicate a wide gap. The present study tries to answer this gap and makes a modest attempt to identify various factors that have the potential to influence online customer's behavioral intention to transact in virtual environment. The empirical evidence presented in the study is based on a survey conducted in early 2013 that comprises of 207 respondents. The study has identified technical en...

This study is aimed to understand users' intention to use online survey forms while comparing online interactive and non-interactive forms. The study used standard Google form as non-interactive form and Survey Monkey form as interactive form. The study is based on the UTAUT (Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology) model. The model is used to create the Research Framework. Constructs like Performance expectancy, Effort expectancy, Facilitating condition and Social influence were used to understand the users’ intention to opt online interactive forms and noninteractive forms. The study used quantitative method and total 150 respondents were collected using disproportionate stratified sampling technique. Descriptive analysis is used to examine the profile of the respondents. Chi-square test of independence is used to understand the opinion difference of respondents of different profile. Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) is conducted to test the hypothesis to examine the effect of Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence and Facilitating Conditions on users’ intention to use Interactive forms and non-interactive forms. Results revealed a significant difference in opinion (0.085, p< 0.05

Many cities in Indonesia try to develop and design effective strategies to create smart cities through innovation and technology. Bandung is one of the local governments in Indonesia which is known as the pioneer of smart city in Indonesia. The Bandung City Government has succeeded in developing innovative solutions to the quality of services in the public sector that are expected to be able to overcome the problems in the Bandung city so as to provide the best service to the societies effectively and efficiently, one of them by launching the application "LAPOR!". This study aims to identify society's acceptance and the factors that influence the implementation of LAPOR! as one of the smart city programs in Bandung City with the UTAUT theory approach. The research method used is a quantitative method, with a survey approach. The sampling technique used in this research is probability sampling with random sampling technique. A total of 400 respondents participated in filling out the questionnaire. Multiple linear regressions are used to test the proposed hypothesis. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that all the hypotheses proposed in this study are proven where Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, facilitating conditions have a significant and positive effect on the LAPOR's behavioral intention.

While gamified mobile learning holds the promise of offering an interactive learning environment, the predictors of its adoption remain underexplored. This paper therefore examines the impact of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) augmented with cognitive gratification and perceived enjoyment on intention to use gamified mobile learning in higher education. 271 valid responses were obtained from students from different regions of Saudi Arabia, using an online questionnaire. Structural Equation Modeling was employed to analyse the data, using AMOS. The findings reveal that perceived enjoyment and social influence had the strongest effects on intention to use gamified mobile learning, followed by performance expectancy and effort expectancy, while cognitive gratification had no influence. The proposed model explained 71% of the variance in usage intentions. The key contribution of this paper is the empirical evidence of the impact of the extended UTAUT on in...

M-learning is a trending field in educational organizations, companies, and also for individual study. Our research intends to make a little light by assessing the degree of m-learning adoption in students at a moment when face-to-face education moved suddenly online due to the COVID-19 outbreak's rapid and unpredictable spread. A new model relying on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) was built to investigate and explain relationships between constructs. It reveals the key factors affecting the technology adoption by considering hedonic motivation a mediator instead of an exogenous variable as in UTAUT2. Based on an analysis of 311 higher education learners, some hypotheses were evaluated, employing partial least squares structural equation modeling. The strongest relationship was detected between hedonic motivation and behavioral intention to use m-learning, being followed by the one in which perceived effectiveness influences hedonic motivation. Age, gender, and experience moderate the model’s relationships.

The purpose of this study is to improve understanding of the apps (mobile applications) market in Spain and Portugal, which are countries that have many more Smartphone's per inhabitant than any other European country. The unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2), was used to investigate the influence of various factors on the users' behavioural intention of use for mobile applications. Confidence in the internet operator was used as an external variable for the UTAUT2 model. A surveying methodology was used for the investigation, with a sample of 402 users, which were then analysed using the partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) model. The constructs of UTAUT2, with the exception of price value and facilitating conditions, were all significantly related to the behavioural intention to use mobile applications. Habits and social influence are found to be the factors that most affect behavioural intention. The results obtained allow a better understanding of the users' needs when considering their intention to download and use apps.
