      Last year It Happened One Summer was one of my fave romances of the year, and when I saw Hook Line and Sinker drop , it was an auto click for me. I couldnt wait to read Hannah and Fox's story. It was so much more than I expected. The narrator did a perfect job!
      When I think of the perfect couple ; every girl wishes for three things . The chemistry of Noah and Ally from the Notebook, the conversations and friendship of a lifetime like Marcus and Sasha in Always be My Maybe someone who knows you deeply, and throw in some pure magic , every girl wants to be someone's everything. A man who would drop to his knees or get his knuckles bloody for you in a heart beat. Fox and Hannah went way past all of this. Chef kiss beautiful ; I laughed at their adorable texts, i sighed at the lengths Fox went to make Hannah feel special, I cried because what they had was what everyone should experience.
      Tessa Bailey also put everything into this book, I learned the meaning behind Soundgarden's name, I have added the park to my bucket list of places I must see. Because Hannah is such a music fan, and loved the Seattle sound, hearing the pure beauty of the wind from the waves rolling through the metal sculptures must have been gorgeous at night under the stars. The author put Fox's feelings into the beauty of this scene much like a cinematographer would in film. The rain in this scene , the music of the wind the reader was immediately there with the characters, in this world that was only just them.
      I love how the author showed growth in both characters as they learned what they wanted from their lives and how communication is important in every detail of a relationship.
      How Hannah went above and beyond to prove herself in producing a music score for the film, added such depth to her character . Every scene was perfection down to the very last one.

      This story was just so perfect. I read “It Happened One Summer” which I liked but couldn’t wait for Hannah’s Story. The small glimpses we got of her and Fox’s personality got me hooked! I must say I loved this so much more than the first book.

      Oh, how many ways I loved this book, so, so, so many!!! The best part of the book was the characters, Fox and Hannah. As the story goes, they hit all the emotions, as they open up to themselves and to each other. The things they held so true and for so long and for so hard, start to crumble away. They are lost on how to figure out to tell the other how they see them, why those truths they think they know, have to fall away. It is a tumultuous journey, and we get to go on it with them, to open up and see things in a different way. Even the heat between them, they don’t see it for what it is and resist it. Even the feelings that they have for each other, they deny it and disregard it. But when they do finally bring it all together, it is absolute magic <3

      The audiobook version of this had glitches where sections were completely silent and then other sections would bounce around almost like the clipped audio was inserted in the wrong place. The story itself was predictable. The first book in the series was far more interesting. This was hard to get through and I found myself rolling my eyes at the “dirty” talking.

      I loved the first in this series and I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's even better. My heart went out to Fox that poor guy. I love how strong Hanna was. People always want the man to be strong, but wow Hanna is quite the inspiration. I laughed and oh the tears. I'm an emotional person and this brought all the emotions. The epilog was a dream.

      That epilogue was EVERYTHING the way it tied the two books together in a neat little bow. I wanted to throttle the main characters for a good chunk but it was adorable. A perfect work time read.

      Production assistant Hannah recommends the quaint fishing village where her late father grew up as the ideal location for the film she's working on. While there, she bunks with her totally platonic friend Fox, who's got a reputation as an incorrigible ladies' man. Which is fine, because she's trying to hook up with the film's director. She and Fox are just friends.

      Except for the super inconvenient sensual tension that neither one of them can seem to resist. And a drunken kiss they can't forget. Okay, fine, they have a thing for each other, but they live in different states and don't want to ruin their friendship. The longer Hannah stays, though, the more she and Fox want more from the relationship. Can they find a way to make it work?

      If you enjoyed IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER, you'll definitely want to read this book. And if you didn't read the first book in the series, go and read that one first. You don't have to, because this one stands alone, but the reading experiences are similar and you'll enjoy the series more if you read the books in order.

      Hannah and Fox are fun, amazing characters. They both underestimate themselves, and through their friendship, they come to realize they're already the person they aspire to be—they just need to believe in themselves. This book really nails the friends-to-lovers trope: the camaraderie, the sensual tension, the unwillingness to jeopardize one of the best relationships in their lives. This couple is well-matched, with complementary qualities but also a willingness to grow together. Plus, the sensuality between them is off the charts. There are also charming side characters that make the novel even more endearing. The audiobook narration added to the enjoyment of the story.

      This was very different from It Happened One Summer but had the same levity, playfulness, emotion and heart as the previous one! I nearly wept at the epilogue! Loved this!!

      Tessa Bailey has a unique way of writing characters. They are so different but you can’t help but to love them. I enjoyed reading It Happened One Summer, but this story truly stole the show. I love how genuine Hannah and Foxs relationship was. All of their problems seemed realistic and not over done. The audiobook was phenomenal. I can’t wait to listen to more audiobooks by the same narrator! Well done!!

      There are many glitches in the audiobook with skips and missing parts.

      This book could have been so much shorter and more moments with dialogue with the characters. There were many redundant moments, and there’s only so much self-doubt and questioning characters I can take.

      I really liked this book, but the horrible writing really took away from it. The story was good, the writing was not.
      Some examples:
      1. Author uses the word cement interchangeably with concrete. They aren’t the same.
      2. Author says, “I filled my yearly quota last night.” Quotas aren’t filled, they are met, achieved, or exceeded. The author meant that she’d reached her limit.
      3. Unedited authors love to use words as adverbs, but incorrectly. An example, “cockily, he crossed his arms.” It’s filler.
      4. Another thing unedited authors love to do is say that people have signature smiles or signature dimples. In this book, Hannah created a signature cocktail. This author needs to figure out what that really means.

      I enjoyed the story, but the writing was horrible. I would never buy a book from this author, unless she finally hires a real editor and not a friend who thinks they are an editor.

      In my opinion, this book felt like it fell flat. There was a lot of unnecessary repetition and almost no chemistry between the main characters. I get they texted and developed a friendship, but it didn’t feel like I was ever rooting for them. Also, I physically rolled my eyes each of the 700 times the term “leading lady” was used.

      It’s a decent follow up but lacks the flow of the first book, “It happened one Summer.” There is less direction and the plot meanders. Fox doesn’t have the same level of charm as Brennan. Could have been a tad shorter. Loved the epilogue!!

      This book is irritating. It just goes over and over and over the same point; he's a player that thinks he doesn't deserve her, she sees the best in him. Rinse and repeat. lt's incredibly long-winded without adding any new info or interest. I found myself internally screaming, "get to the point and shut up already!!" The story could have been resolved by one honest 5 minute conversation between FMC and MMC.

      Loved this book even more than the first. Sometimes you just need a HEA and the visits from previous book’s characters is even better. Performance was great and the story/plot is adorable. I’ll definitely be listening again.
