- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This series so far has been exactly what I have been looking for, the action is fluid and makes sense, the characters motives are understandable. Most importantly of all however, the setting and feeling of this viking age Ireland feels believable and organic. I am not an historian, nor an expert of ancient Ireland but I do enjoy this setting. I also really like the main character, he is an older and unwilling warrior on this action packed adventure. The author has done a really good job in making the story feel epic in scope, and only focus on a few characters and one or two locations in each book so far. This is not a Fantasy in the typical sense, there are very light fantastic elements in this story, but for the most part it reads lime something that could have happened and that is exactly what I want in any historical fiction. Highly recommended.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book from a so-far great series. Time for more!
