About this audiobook

I can’t have Elijah Iverson.

I can’t have him because he’s my older brother’s best friend. I can’t have him because I broke his heart five years ago; because he’s now engaged to someone else—someone kind and dependable who deserves his whiskey eyes, his soft mouth, his fierce intellect.

I can’t have Elijah because I’ve chosen God instead.

The Bell brothers, though . . . well, we don't exactly have the greatest track record with vows. But I’m determined to do this monk thing right—to pledge myself to a cloistered life and spend the rest of my years in chastity and prayer. But now Elijah’s here. He’s here and he’s coming with me on my European monastery road trip, and between the whispered confessions and the stolen kisses and the moments bent over an ancient altar, my vows are feeling flimsier by the day.

And vows or not, I know in my heart that it would take more than a good and holy monk to resist Elijah Iverson right now. It would take a saint.

And we all know that I’m no saint.

(This is the third full-length standalone in the Priest Collection, featuring Father Bell's brother, Aiden Bell. You do not have to read Priest or Sinner to read Saint.)

Author

Sierra Simone

It all started with a series of tropes: just one bed, forced proximity, and a dash of enemies to lovers, and now ten years later, Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone are best friends and co-authors of the USA Today bestselling A Merry Little Meet Cute, A Holly Jolly Ever After, and A Jingle Bell Mingle. Sierra is the USA Today bestselling author of Priest and American Queen. When they’re not writing, Julie and Sierra enjoy forcing their families to go on vacation together and eating an array of pies while watching delightfully bad movies.

What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a beautifully written and erotic book that explores themes of love, sex, devotion, and religion. The characters are well-developed and the dialogue is engaging. Some readers appreciate the hot yet poetic smut scenes, while others feel that the smut scenes could be improved. The forbidden romance, age gap, and second chance elements add to the intrigue of the story. Overall, this book is captivating, poignant, and thought-provoking, with excellent performances by the narrators.

I tried to look at the story from 2 perspectives. The first one is from the perspective of someone who just likes to read. Under this lens, I can say that the story was written beautifully. The smut scenes was delivered in a hot yet poetic way. The exchange of dialogues was also written well and it felt like I am actually listening to the conversations of the characters and I felt the strong emotions that the characters are experiencing

The second perspective that I used in assessing the story is from a gay guy's point of view. The characters of the monk and the ex was written so well. Reading it gave a lot of details in terms of their back stories and motivations. The only thing that I felt like that is in need of improvement are the smut scenes. Although the descriptions and choices of words are really fitting for gay sex, the feel of these scenes somehow still felt like I am still reading a heterosexual sex scene.

Overall, this trilogy is very entertaining. The topics tackled are very uncommon and can make sa readers think what is right in the eyes of the society, what is right in terms of our own preference or what is right in terms of our faith and belief system.

Wow. This book had me shook while I was reading it. Its incredibly erotic and my first male/male read. I absolutely loved it and it's my favorite of this series Sierra Simone has done. I fell in love with Aiden and Elijah's story immediately and their passion for each other was so touching. Highly recommend.

Only my second MM romance. Captivating. So empathically and compassionately written, descriptions of the intrinsic experiences of mental illness, moral conflict, honest self-exploration and accountability open listeners' minds and hearts to the depth of our fellow humans' emotional, spiritual, and relational lives--with self as well as others. Sierra Simone's voluminous and passionate love of and attention to history shine so brightly, and her writing is both utterly sophistocated and completely relatable. Again, as in Sinner, social commentary is rendered gently, if clearly. This book could be read/heard and thoroughly enjoyed simply as sexy, contemporary romance. And with just a little more contemplation, its meaning and impact become so clearly and importantly much, much more.
Jacob Morgan's and Sean Crisden's performances move and resonate. Morgan's accents bring us to Belgium and France with vocal ease. The narrators' expert acting proves that voice alone is enough to convey all we need to know and feel another's experience.

This is the first MM Romance I have read. I have read MMF and although it is similar in some ways it is not the same as the dynamics of MM- still reading and will read and update but so far I am quite intrigued. Both Aiden and Elijah are very sympathetic characters. Elijah because Aiden left with no valid explanation as to why- he left more questions than answers. That is one of the worst experiences ever. Especially because from all accounts Elijah loved and accepted Aiden unconditionally. He may not have had the full story but whatever he saw he accepted. Although Aiden is the one who left he is a very sympathetic character too. He was lost and was just trying to find the right path without worrying his family and his loved ones. He views himself as a selfish person but in my opinion he is very far from selfish. He does his best to be good and to avoid being a burden. He is good people! Elijah has underlying fraternal if not paternal feelings towards Aiden and although he means well sometimes Aiden interprets the care and concern as proof that he is a F Up who constantly needs guidance and this is kind of a misconception they have.
This has makings of the best book in the series wow! ??
The ending was great. I understand why Elijah did not want to be the reason Aiden left the monastery when you love someone you gotta want what's best for them not only that but what if he decided to wanna end himself again due to depression? I am glad Aiden made the decision he did and stuck to it even though ot was risky as H. He made no bones that he left for Elijah no matter the challenges ahead. That was highly commendable. I liked this whole series but this was my favourite story.

The way I am loving Sierra Simone’s writing is nothing short of devotion. The Bell boys, the monks, the exploration of love, sex, devotion, religion is so gratifying and beautiful. It’s all there. The personal struggle, the lovers, the sex. Read it. Read them all.

Aiden has to leave for his own good but in doing so he leaves the man he loves in his old life.

Elijah can't fathom why Aiden up and left when life seemed perfect. Not without its blips of course but nothing they couldn't work through. He never received an explanation and that door was never closed. Five years later Elijah has moved on, become engaged to a wonderful man and finally needs to find closure with his past.

    Aiden.
    A Monk.

I loved their relationship and listening to the audio was amazing. The narration was carried out so well and Aiden's dry sense of humour came across perfectly. Aiden and Elijah have a second go at their relationship and had all the great moments of a forbidden romance with the added mix of an age gap.

It was interesting listening to Elijah's POV through his article entries for his journal. You really managed to start and hear his emotions coming through more, especially, with the one at the end. Listening to Aiden's battle throughout when it came to his religion and faith that saved his life on a whim and his feelings for Elijah who was part of his past.

Loved Saint and I would love the final brother to get a book but I don't think he will!!

I have to admit that this book took my M/M virginity. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it, cause I am not a man and I am not part of LGBTQ community, but I still enjoyed it very much.

I loved both Aiden and Elijah, and even tho I wanted to kick their assess quite a few times, I still fell in love with them.

I have to admit that their sex scenes weren't as hot as the ones from the previous two books (but maybe that's on me). I felt anxiety every time they were having sex, cause I always expected someone to catch them, while they are doing it thankfully, that didn't happen.

But the thing I liked the most was the finesse, with which Sierra Simone combined sex scenes with real questions, who make you think about life. The topic about suicide, and the LGBTQ community in the church was really interesting.

I can't wait to devour her next book.
