About this audiobook
"A twisty thriller that stretches to the far reaches of the Alaskan tundra, The Final Hunt is a one-sit read, and Cameron Prescott is the kind of take-no-prisoners protagonist you’ll be rooting for to the final, spine-tingling pages.” - USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, Danielle Girard
Alone in a hunting cabin, off-grid in an untamed wilderness. How does a marriage come to this?
After John disappeared while hunting—presumed dead from a bear attack—Cameron found the crime photos. His role in the recent Seattle serial murders was discovered. The media destroyed her reputation. She lost her dental practice, is on the brink of losing her home.
Everyone has a secret. But if her husband could hide the unimaginable from her, who’s to say he’s truly dead?
“What brings you so far from home?” the Alaska State Trooper had asked. The truth.
"Dark secrets lie at the heart of this riveting tale of murder and betrayal. The Final Hunt hooked me on the first page and didn't let go." - Chris Patchell, USA TODAY bestselling author

What our readers think
Readers find this title enjoyable and captivating, despite some predictability and unrealistic elements. The fast-paced narrative keeps readers engaged without unnecessary details. The Alaskan setting and animal characters add to the appeal. While some find the plot a bit far-fetched, the story still holds interest. Overall, readers appreciate the tough protagonist and the gripping nature of the book. The narration is also praised. Despite a few minor errors, readers are looking forward to the author's future works.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Awesome! Amazing story. Can't wait for book two. The narrator was great, too!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5When Cameron discovers that her deceased husband was a serial killer, she is more than sick. She had been mourning his loss, after an accident while out hunting. Instead, now she is angry. Everything they worked for is now gone, and she has to move, so that she can get away from the prying eyes.
The detective in charge of the case is determined to bring this case to close, even though John is already dead. But soon, questions start to pop up, with the uncertainty if he is truly dead or not. Cameron is going to find out, even if it means going to Alaska to find him.
She has secrets of her own to hide, and she is doing her best to keep them under wraps. But everything starts to change when she meets the handsome state trooper, Dane. Can there be a new beginning?
I enjoyed this one, and the pure rage that she was feeling when it came to tracking down the person she is determined is responsible. Really, really good! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I so enjoyed the wild Alaskan landscape setting. Get so tired of books set in cities. A gripping read too and a tough protagonist.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very captivating! Slightly predictable but I love the animals and Alaska setting of this story!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is the first book I have read by Audrey J. Cole and I enjoyed it. It's a little predictable and a little unrealistic, but that's why it's called fiction. I read a lot of suspense books and I finished this one in one day. It moves quickly and is not bogged down with unnecessary detail or redundant content. I will definitely be checking out the 6 titles in the Emerald City series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was a fun read! I did enjoy it very much. It wasn’t really a mystery but it was interesting just the same.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely fantastic, both the book & the narrator. Loved it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was an ok listen, I personally don’t like story lines that aren’t convincing. I feel Cameron finding a random murder in Alaska that didn’t really fit her husband’s pattern all from looking at a magazine is an extreme reach. Nothing felt realistic, almost everything felt forced. Author had a good idea for a story however.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a pretty darned awesome listen. The tale was woven as a many-layered, tense thriller/whodunnit. Though there were a couple minor errors (need a thorough content editor), I enjoyed it quite a bit. Listened throughout one late afternoon-evening. I’m looking forward to the author’s next books. The narrator did an excellent job.
