About this ebook
measure the night
by the amount of thoughts
crammed into one day
seventh ready to show the world
even if most don't know
it exists that doesn't mean
it isn't real because it is
even if I can't explain how they
are delivered to me
might even have to admit
they are my creations
today measuring the night
in pages turned over
and covered conversations
all types barely use the phones
to talk isn't that strange
who could've guessed
turn back only a few years
and try to remember the numbers
like you used to before
everything changed
measuring the night
by the fire...

Start It Off
7-28-2015
start it off
clear the mind
breathe in
summer sounds surround
breathe out
relaxed might even think
it's a nap
midday quiet soundtrack
of summer with closed eyes
could be twenty years
in either direction
remembering things
thought forgotten
brought back by a scent in the air
or even a sound
start it off again
by myself if need be
clear the mind
and the table
anyone and everyone welcome
take a look a thought
a ride into the words
my dreams created...
Behind What’s Accepted
4-8-2015
leaves stacked up then pressed
under snow flattened by weight
and time revealed with high temperature
expanding allowing new life to form
beneath leaves and a vine climbing
up the tree held on kept most of their green
all through the winter
wishing like I that spring would finally spring
some warmer air
just taking it all in and my mind never stops
used to do this even more often
never stopped but slowed down a lot
for a long time coming back now
pen holder mover now questioning
the motive behind the accepted thoughts
vs. the imagined ones
and where do you go from there
here I am thinking...
Full Forty
5-10-2015
full forty ironically
on the same page
feeling XL for a day
sun and clear skies
same ones looked to as a child
seems impossible in this
ever moving infinite space
feeling the breeze
on the back of the neck
without a hood for tonight
sitting in the hood tonight
meditating on a full forty
a new beginning
some might say
and words I hear
as each new day approaches
closer to another thought
a full forty and beyond
stretching as far as the eyes
can view outward
and eventually inward too...
Find the Top
10-28-2014
the pen will just go when you let it
memories come and go
but importance won’t let them be forgotten
the power of words the camera for thoughts
resist a certain stagnation that seems to persist
plow right through even if only on off days
you won’t find the top if you stop when you cough
keep on pushing you have somewhere to go
pick up the shovel could be dirt might be snow
never know so get moving the song
to myself puzzling the pieces
rearranging true wealth
thinking of all the other minds
ones met along the way so many far behind
right here now attention to poor to pay or
stick around a corner sharp to every
