      CHAPTER 1

      The whole window was covered in snow as Rose tried to look out the window. It had snowed heavily over the night. Thanksgiving had come and gone, and the whole country was back to its working state. The days got colder as the snowfall intensified daily. Mums wrapped their kids in thick cotton and leather coats, but it just wouldn’t be enough, the cold got scarier. National televisions aired daily of havocs the storm wrecked around the coasts, it was worse over there. Rose called her children in New York daily, she hated the fact that they were schooling so far way. She was left to herself, her husband was always out working, he worked even Saturdays.

      Rose rushed through the dishes she was doing, Aaron would be down in a moment. Rose sang in low tunes when she heard the bellow of her mobile phone. She dropped the plate in her hand gently and stormed to the sitting room. Damping her hands against her apron, she swiped the phone off the table before the bellow ended. She was disappointed when she saw that it was a message. I have to change this tone Rose said to herself. She had made the message tone and that of phone call the same, and it now irked her why she did that in the first place. But it had made her prompt to her phone to check messages that might enter.

      Her disappointed face lit when she saw it was a message from Zack. Her throat leaped in sensual elation as she clicked the open button. The thoughts came flooding back to her as she read the message, it was the best thing she had had in years. She had been shy but she was elated that Zack beguiled her. He was coming down the stairs when he winked at her. The wink made something lurch in her stomach, and she didn’t know why. But, there had been something about the guy that enticed her, he was firmly built and didn’t look like he had a girlfriend. Even if he had, a girlfriend could be jilted anytime.

      She was the older one, but the twenty-six years old man had made a move to her.

      Would you like some snack Rose asked as she moved towards the kitchen

      Yes please Zack responded with the brightest of smiles.

      He winked again and Rose couldn’t help but smile. He knew she was into him, and it was only wise if he played along too. Hooking up with a cougar would be fun. Rose was scouring the refrigerator, searching for some biscuits and chocolate when she felt a hand wrap around her waist. Aaron wasn’t back from the office, and there was only one man in the house with her.

      What are you doing She turned to him and said

      Shhhh. You want this, don’t you? Zack said coyly

      Rose smiled and turned to continue her search for the snacks. She could feel his hands against her stomach, and it increased the rate at which her heart raced. She hadn’t such sensual feeling in months. Her nipples hardened when she felt Zack’s hand rose up against her breasts. Her eyes closed as his hands sat against the top of her chest. It was the best feeling in the world, and the rest of the day with him was just as awesome.

      Zack had a good time with the her and his message to her had confirmed that. .....You are the most beautiful 40 years old lady I’ve ever slept with. A bright smile rose on Rose’s lips but was suddenly impeded by the debate. ‘Does he have an elderly lady he is into, apart from her? How many of herself had he been in a relationship with?’

      But none of the rhetorical questions bothered her for a long time, she decided to only think of the beautiful time they had together. That was all that mattered. She longed to see him again but knew he would be at work. Her face reddened when she mused on the sexy body of his when he walked towards her. The perfect abs in.....

      Rose Aaron’s call cut into her reverie. She hurriedly deleted the message as she walked towards the stairs to meet Aaron as he marched down the stairs. He was set to go to work, except for having a lose tie that Rose did for him every morning. Rose knotted the tie and pulled it firm against the collar of his shirt in no time.

      Thanks love He said as he kissed her cheeks. It was a heartfelt kiss of his, but it only made the redness of Rose’s cheek to dampen. It wasn’t the kiss she needed at the moment, though she got it every day. Two days without seeing Zack had seemed like two months, and she was bent on bringing in Zack again.

      Oh dear, I forgot to mention to you. The internet is out again

      What? I thought I sent the IT guy over two days ago. How come?

      Not so sure, but I tried checking a few things online today, but it’s all down

      Aaron looked at his wrist watch, he was late for work already. OK, call the IT guy to come fix it, and please tell him to do a professional job this time

      She smiled as she replied, Sure, I will make sure he does a perfect job, and watch him as he repairs anything that might be worn out

      Aaron didn’t give a response as he walked towards the dining table, had a few spoons of the salad and picked a couple toast breads from the plate

      Aren’t you waiting to eat? Rose protested

      I’m sorry dear, I’m late for work. I have to go now

      You always go early and are hardly around for dinner. Why are you doing this? Rose said as she placed her hands on his chest. She could feel it solid beneath her palm

      You know I’m doing this for us

      He was right about that, that was the joy of being a housewife. She didn’t have to work but spend as much as she wanted anytime of the day. What she hated was being a loner, she felt
