Tales of the Driftnpoet - Darrell Kellogg
IT’S ONLY LIFE
Exotic, erotic, a lover of words
Something that’s written is bound to be heard
If not today or tomorrow, then somewhere in time
Life in itself is much like the rhyme
The same mistakes repeated anew
Till locked in your memory, they form a clue
You know where you’ve been, where you going now?
You know what you want, but do you know how?
This is no great tale, no answer to life
It’s merely a pen and the hand that writes
The words move from brain to page
At some point in time you learn to gauge
Life’s not a comedy or a tragedy though
It’s hard and it’s easy it stalls and it flows
A frown, a smile, a serious look
A walk, a movie, or just a good book
Release the stress that makes the mind tight
Just relax and enjoy, it’s only life.
ROAM
For everyone’s life
There is a road
He travels it long
He travels it bold.
Looking for love and sights unseen
Standing at the crossroads
Where three convene.
Temptations attract me
With ladies and fun
But so does the darkness
And life on the run
Here I stand
Not knowing which way to roam
To the right or the left
Or turn around and go home.
KNIGHTS
IN RUSTY ARMOR
In days of old, when knights were bold
Their tales were never
