Hearts on Fire

About this ebook
Hearts on Fire is a book of poems about life and how the heart and mind work together to produce feelings of emotion and passion. This is a continuation of Heart Thoughts. The second section of the book includes poems about the fire service and the events of 9-11. Our minds tend to want to be logical, but the heart steers us toward living our lives as they are meant to be. Think with your mind, live with your heart, and enjoy the experience that comes from melding the two. Experiences surrounding everyday events within the fire service lead to many thoughts that come from a logical mind and a feeling
T.S. Robinson
Tom Robinson was born March 8, 1964 in Wilmington, N.C. He found his passion in life to be the fire service to which many hours have been committed in the past thirty years. For nine years this service came as a volunteer firefighter, and then it became a career path in his professional life. Many life experiences throughout his career led him to find poetry as an outlet to express feelings and emotions not normally shared in this profession. Tom attended Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, N.C. and is a graduate of Columbia Southern University in Alabama. Tom received a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection/Business Administration. Tom is a Battalion Chief in the fire service as well as an instructor for Cape Fear Community College. Tom does have one work that has been recognized in the wake of 9-11. “In Remembrance” became the official poem for the Remembrance Flag and copies of this poem are sent with each flag purchased. In Remembrance is included in Hearts on Fire. Tom published his first book in February 2013 and is titled “Heart Thoughts”. Life is for experiencing and poetry allows those experiences to be expressed in many different venues.

Hearts on Fire - T.S. Robinson
ALL THAT WE HAVE
All that we have and all that we do,
Is made more special because of you.
Making our house into a beautiful home,
We know exactly where we belong.
In this love we have found new life
And in this love we can truly live our life.
Our hearts found a love that is so true,
And I am so blessed to have this with you.
We know that this love is meant to be,
And that you are truly the one for me.
Living our fantasy like only we can,
Always ready to say I am such a lucky man.
Having your love to share every day,
So glad that this love came our way.
Love that we have none else can compare,
Always know for you I will always be there.
AS WE SHARE LIFE
As I sit and wait to see your face,
I am so thankful we are at this place.
Together this love we do share,
Knowing more each day how much we care.
Being together took us both by surprise,
Happiness like this we never thought we would realize.
Finding in one another a love that is so true
Knowing that this time is meant for me and you.
As we share our lives together we can see,
That this love for us is truly meant to be.
Experiences in life that we can now openly live,
Our hearts are blessed by all that we have to give.
I give to you my heart to you it does belong,
You have given to me your love and a brand new song.
Our love has grown so very fast,
I know in my heart it is meant to last.
As I sit and think of our love so grand,
I realize that I am a happy and lucky man.
Knowing that it is you I always want in my life,
I will patiently wait till the day you are my wife!
BEING WITH YOU
When I’m with you,
eternity is a step away;
my love continues to grow,
with each passing day.
This treasure of love,
I cherish within my soul,
how much I love you…
you’ll never really know.
You bring a joy to my heart;
I’ve never felt before,
with each touch of your hand,
I love you more and more.
Whenever we say goodbye,
whenever we are apart,
know that I hold you dearly,
deep inside my heart.
So these seven words,
I pray you hold true,
"Forever and Always,
I Will Love You."
BUILDING LOVE
As we work and toil to make this house our home,
It is so wonderful to know we will not be alone.
Loving one another with all of our hearts,
It has been this way from the very start.
Building our home that we so willingly share,
Every task completed is a way to show that we care.
Working to make it comfortable and a great place to live,
The toil of our hands we are so eagerly ready to give.
We see our dreams
