About this ebook
This book is written by the inspirations from real people. There are sad moments of people who experienced tragedy. A young man leaves wife and kids, took a train north through sleet, hoping for a better tomorrow. A hurricane hit the East Coast and affected a big area. Most people had to look for shelter, food, and blankets. They spend the night in the cold, without heat. Many who are on minimum wage did not have enough to buy a Christmas gift. A man and his daughter waiting at the airport for his wife to return home. The chaplain called him and others to the chapel, but the news was not good. There was a story about a dad who was wrecked by the disease of alcoholism. The saddest part was the son was following the father's example. The poor and the rich have the same dreams and goals. It seems as if the poor fall short on their goal. All they need is another chance of employment to gain their dignity. There was also a story with a happy ending. A father sailed to another country to pick up daughter and family on a small sailing boat, returning back safely. One wish of mine is to help the poor, especially the sick with cancer. So a portion of the proceeds of this book will be going to the Belize Cancer Society and the American Cancer Society. This book is dedicated to the recipients of its success.

Breath of Fresh Air - Francisco Allen
A Better Life
He was on his way to the U.S.A.
Looking for a better life
He left behind with their approval
Mother, father, six kids, and wife
He finally reached the border
Along with thousands more
He stayed overnight and waited
He’s been on this route before
He was thinking of his future
There was so much that he could gain
With his companions cheering him on
He made the last train
As the train took them north
The forecast called for snow and sleet
He was not dressed for the weather
His body was protected, but not his feet
The train went into a blizzard
He felt better that he was not alone
But the snow killed his dreams
While his family waited for news back home
A Fly’s Escape
A fly was trapped between
The window’s glass and the screen
Trying to concentrate
So it wouldn’t scream
A giant picked up a paper
To scare it away
The fly kept moving
Each time the paper came his way
With a scare it escaped
And entered the room
The giant still tried to kill it
This time with a broom
As he wondered where it was safe to fly
He heard a bang and a hiss from death
As he glided around the giant’s face
The sun disappeared, taking away his breath
The giant bent over to scoop him up
Stinging his butt was hard to resist
The giant aimed to get the fly
But hard as he tried, this time he missed
The fly was still dazed
As he opened an eye, ready for an attack
The giant half-opened the door
And the fly took off, never looking back
A Heavy Price
Once my heart belonged to you
But I couldn’t tell you why
You didn’t know I existed
Because I couldn’t say hi
I paid a heavy price
Not saying how I felt
My heart did not break
My agony caused it to melt
Every time I remember
And the pain I went through
I begin to utter words
But get nervous when I see you
Now that the problem’s solved
And my confidence has grown
You still make my heart quiver
And my throat to groan
Next time I see you
I am prepared to speak
Even if I fail trying
Or my knees get weak
A Nightmare
Since I met you
My heart beats for two
I go to sleep at night
And I only dream about you
So I went to see the doctor
And I asked him what to do
He said, "Get rid of her or else
She could be the end of you"
But, Doctor,
I said,
She is the only one in my dreams
I cannot understand it
He howls and screams
When that woke me up
I knew it was a nightmare
I turned around and saw a smile
Hidden under your golden hair
A Perfect Fit
Under the scope of the full moon
In the cool of the night
Our relationship was born
You were a beautiful sight
For your birthday we shared
A slice of cake with a candle lit
You came into my life like
A puzzle piece, a perfect fit
Since the years without you
I’ve spent thinking what have I missed
But I’m surviving knowing
All the moments we had kissed
Seven years have been for me
A turbulent time of dedication
It’s time to start a journey
To our final destination
You are from another country
But you are not foreign to me
Your essence is embedded
In
