Upanishad 9 - Munindra Misra
Vedas
Four Vedas hold the wisdom vast,
Rig, Yajur, Sama, Atharva cast,
Each one a treasure from the past,
Their knowledge wide, insights vast.
Samhitas chant with holy breath,
Brahmanas guide the rites of faith,
Aranyakas for the forest's wraith,
Upanishads, the soul's true sheath.
Upasanas, some scholars do say,
Are a fifth division in the fray,
Worship's path, in bright array,
Guiding the devout who pray.
Shruti they heard, from sages wise,
Smriti, remembered, under skies,
Samhitas, Brahmanas, life's ties,
For householders, they stabilize.
Aranyakas, when the forests call,
Upanishads, for those who stall,
The worldly life, to leave it all,
For Vānaprastha, Sannyasa's thrall.

Om!
May Brahman protect us both completely!
Bestow upon us fruit of Knowledge wholly!
May we obtain energy to get knowledge truly!
May what we do study reveal the Truth fully!
May we have no ill feeling for others actually!
OM! PEACE! PEACE! PEACE!
Let peace be in environment and me!
Let peace be in forces acting on me!
Let there be Peace totally completely!

Om!
Lord!
May we hear with our ears what auspicious be,
May we see with our eyes what auspicious be;
May we, offering praise to gods with our bodies,
Enjoy life, which gods pleased granted us truly;
May Indra of great fame well-disposed to us be,
May the all-knowing Sun God gracious to us be;
May Garud, misery remover, pleased with us be,
May Brihaspati ever grant us all the prosperity.

Chapter 1
Hari Om!
Hari Om, the seeker's call,
To Brahma's wisdom, open to all,
Narada's plea for knowledge so bright,
To cleanse the sins, bring Brahman to light.
Hayagreeva, Lord of the mind,
Salvation for all, in you, we find,
King of Knowledge, so vast and deep,
Your blessings, we pray to keep.
Rig, Yajur, Sama Vedas' form,
From celestial realms, you brought the norm,
Pranava's song, a horse-headed guide,
To you, our salutations, we can't hide.
Teach us, O Lord, beyond our thought,
The Vedas' essence, which you have brought,
God of words, in Pranava's tune,
Grant us wisdom, be it night or noon.
In the mantra of twenty-nine,
Sages and meters align so fine,
Hayagreeva, the divine root,
Strength and nail, in pursuit.
Moon's glitter in your gaze,
Holding symbols of ancient days,
Conch, wheel, stamp, and lore,
In your hands, wisdom's core.
The mantra's call, a sacred plea,
For knowledge, wealth, and clarity,
Om Sreem, lhowm, to Hayagreeva we bow,
For medham, pragnam, here and now.
In twenty-eight letters, the mantra's sung,
A divine request on every tongue,
Sreem, Im, Kleem, Sow, Hreem's flow,
To Hayagreeva, our reverence we show.
Chapter 2
In the sacred sound’s embrace,
Where mantras crown the kings,
The letter Lhoum (hsoum), with force it rings.
Sovereign of roots, in chants divine,
Hayagreeva’s wisdom, in hearts enshrine.
Lhoum (hsoum) Amrutham Kuru Swaha,
to heavens it climbs,
Bestowing mastery of speech, wealth, and times.
Eightfold powers within grasp, mantra's potent rite,
On spiritual wings, we soar to height.
Lhoum (hsoum) Sakala Samrajya Sidhim Kuru Kuru Swaha,
Mantra murmurs Vedic truths, in its shastra.
Pragnanam Anandam Brahma,
divine
