    Dear Parents, I hope you had a restful long weekend! I want to thank all of you who came out to Open House last Thursday. If you were unable to come, you should receive important information in an Open House packet in your childs Monday folder.

    Reading: As a part of Daily 5 this week we will be continuing to work on Read To Self and are introducing Read To Someone. In Letterland, we will be working with words that have the short a sound and the word families ad, ap, and at. Our words are: cat, nap, mad, hat, sat, Dad, lap, had, at, and map. Tricky words this week are: is, the, my, on, a. Writing: We will continue to write small moment narrative stories using the narrative writing rubric. Math: We will make comparisons of two-digit numbers with more than, less than, and equal to. We will practice comparing quantities using the number line.

    1. Please bring a small nutritional snack every day. 2. Toys are not allowed at school! 3. Please send in $5.00 to purchase Scholastic News for your child this year. 4. Monday folders are returned Tuesday. 5. Daily folders are sent back to school every day. 6. If your child rides the bus, someone needs to be at the bus stop to pick them up!!
