    Week 1: Go online and download notes on direct and indirect speeches. Read and use them for a discussion in class. Keep them in your file. Week 2: Find 20 sentences in the direct speech and change them to the indirect speech. Week 3: Find a dialogue between two people consisting of five to seven exchanges and change it into reported speech. Week 4: Go online and download notes on affixations and collocations. Read and use them for a discussion in class. Keep them in your file. Week 5: Get exercises on affixations and collocations (consisting at least 10 questions each). Answer them. Week 6: Get an article of about 300 words. Highlight the anaphoric and cataphoric references in it. Week 7: Get an article of about 350 words and identify by highlighting logical connectors and lexical devices used. the

    Week 8: Write a journal entry highlighting the cohesive devices used. (You can use your journal entry for other subjects.) Week 9: Get an excerpt from an interview online. Identify the places of ellipsis. You can use /. Week 10: Get another extract from an interview and complete it using words which are ellipted. Week 11: Use the text for your English Studies and find examples for emotive language, rhetorical questions and social expressions (three each). Week 12: Go online and download notes and/or examples on sentence fragments and punctuations. Week 13: Provide three examples each for abbreviations, acronyms and idiomatic expressions. Week 14: Go online and download notes and/or examples on style and register in written and spoken English. Week 15: Go online and download notes on formal and informal English (written and spoken).
