In each burglary, flat screen TVs, electronics such as cameras, computers and laptops were stolen after entry was made through an unlocked front door with little damage. Police have distributed alerts but do not have surveillance footage or access to hallway cameras, making it difficult to develop leads.     Police Investigating Four Burglaries in Apartments Complexes


    Riverside Police are investigating four separate burglaries in apartment complexes; three burglaries in same complex at 63 Forest and the fourth within a block at 22 East Avenue. All have the same pattern dating back to Christmas day 2013. The three burglaries that took place on Forest happened: December 25, 2013 - reported to police at 11:50 p.m., January 20, 2014 - reported to police at 8:30 p.m., January 21, 2014 - reported to police at 10:30 a.m. The fourth was at 22 East Avenue on January 21, 2014 and reported to police at 8:40 p.m. In each of these burglaries flat screen televisions and other electronics such as cameras, computers, and laptops were taken. In each case its believed that entry was made by a front door and very little force, if any, was used. In several cases it appears that the apartment was entered using some type of device that did not leave damage to the door or door jambs. Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel said investigators hand delivered a Community Alert to all residents of 63 Forest and 22 East Avenues and left with the property managers at both buildings asking them to post in common areas. Neither building has video surveillance so it has been difficult to develop leads. In both buildings the lobbies have secured doors in front and back and police do not have access to the hallways without being buzzed in. If anyone has information, call Riverside Police Department.
