 MAINLY DONE BY STARTUP,ACCELERATION, SPEED, TEMP.


AND SYNC. CONTROL.
 SENSORS MONITOR THE SPEED , TEMP AND CPD TO
DETERMINE THE OPERATING CONDITIONS OF THE UNIT.
 WHEN IT IS NECESSORY TO ALTER THE OPERATING
CONDITIONS BECAUSE OF CHANGE IN LOAD/AMBIENT COND.
 FSR IS COMMAND SIGNAL FOR THE FUEL.
 SWITCHING BETWEEN CONTROL MODE IS BUMPLESS.

STARTUP:
 OPEN LOOP CONTROL

ACCELERATION:
 ACC SETPOINT IS GENEARATED BASED ON SPEED . IT IS TO
PRODUCE A MODERATING INCREASING FIRING TEMP. WITH
SLOW INCREASE AT LOW SPEED AND RAPID INCREASE WHEN
SPEED IS MORE THAN 60% . TO FASCILITATE GRADUAL TEMP
RISE.
 REDUCE NEAR FULL SPEED FOR TRANSITION TO FSNL FSR
WITH OUT OVERHOOT.

DROOP SPEED/LOAD CONTROL


 PROPORTIONAL CONTROL , CHANGES FSR PROP. TO DIFF IN
TNR AND TNH.
 CONTROL SIGNAL TNR IS GT SPEED REFERENCE AND AFTER
SYNC. TNR BECOMES A LOAD REFERENCE AND VARIES
BETWEEN 100 TO 104% TO GIVE POWER O/P FROM 0 TO 100%
RATED LOAD.
 THIS MODE OF GOVERNOR CHANGES FSR IN PROPORTION TO
SPEED ERROR
FSRN = (TNR - TNH ) * DROOP + FSNL FSR

DROOP = BASE FSR - FSNL FSR


% DROOP
 IF 4% DROOP IS SELECTED ONLY 1% CHANGE IN SPEED WILL
PRODUCE A CHANGE IN FUEL FLOW EQ. TO 25 % OF RATED

 DROOP IS NOTHIG BUT A PROPORTIONAL GAIN.

ISOCHRONOUS SPEED CONTROL

FED THROUGH AN INTEGRATOR.
 FAST ACTING SYSTEM USED TO MAINTAIN CONSTANT
FREQUENCY.
 PI CONTROLLER.

 ISO. FSR INTEGRATES TO THE DROP CONTROL FOR


BUMPLESS TRANSFER.

EXHAUST TEMPERATURE CONTROL:

 THE PURPOSE IS TO CONTROL THE FUEL FLOW TO THE GT TO


MAINTAIN OPERATING TEMP . WITHIN THE DESIGN THERMAL
STRESS LIMIT.
 THE SYSTEM MEASURE AND CONTROL EX. TEMP SINCE IT IS
IMPRACTICAL TO MEASURE FIRING TEMP.
 TTRX ALGORITHM COMPUTES EX. TEMP. REFERENCE.
 EX. TEMP IS A CONTROLLED FUNCTION OF CPD.
 FIRING TEMP IS LIMITED BY LINERISED FUNCTION OF EX
TEMP. AND CPD.
 BACKUP CURVE IS ALSO LINEARIZED FUNCTION OF FSR /
DWATT WHICH LIMIT THE FIRING TEMP.
 FSR BIAS MAINTAINED ABOVE 30 DEG F CPD BIAS CURVE.
 CPD IS BELOW 50 PSI , FSR BIAS WILL TAKE CONTROL.

ONCE THE CPD TRANSDUCER FAILS, THE BACKUP CURVE
REPLACES THE PRIMARY CURVE BY SUBSTRACTING OFF THE

 EXHAUST TEMP ALGORITHM AVERAGES THE EX. T/C


READING TO DETERMINE TTXM.
 ANY TEMP READING WHICH FALL BELOW THE VALUE OF
TTXD2_2 BY CONSTANT TTKXCO IS EXCLUDED FROM THE
AVERAGE CALCULATION.
 THE HIGEST AND LOWEST T/C ARE ALSO EXCUDED FROM
THE CAL. OF TTXM.
 EACH PROCESSOR RECEIVE T/C READING FROM EACH OF THE
OTHER Processors.
 IF COMMUNICATION FAILS , OTHER READING WILL BE ZERO
AND WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE CALCULATION.

 FOR COMPRESSOR PULSATION PROTECTION DURING
STARTUP/SHUTDOWN
 DURING PART LOAD OPERATION
 WHERE THERE IS HRSG, IT IS DESIRABLE TO MAXIMIZE THE
EX TEMP.
 IGV HOLD MIN AT PART LOAD OPERATION.
 IGV EX TEMP. CONTROL SP IS PROGRAMMED SLIGHTLY LESS
THEN BASE TEMP. CONTROL.
