Wrist Bag
YOU WILL NEED:
Fabric: Remnant 8 1/2 x 11 1/2
Contrast (Patches, Strap and Loop):
Fabric Remnant 7 x 17
Lining: Remnant 8 1/2 x 11 1/2
Fusible Interfacing:
Hair Canvas Remnant 8 1/2 x 11 1/2
SUGGESTED FABRICS: Raw Silk, Corduroy,
Woolens; Contrast: Synthetic Leather or Suede;
Lining: Lining Fabric; Interfacing: Hair Canvas.
NOTIONS:
7 zipper
zipper pull
3/4 D-Ring
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut out pattern pieces following cutting directions.
For Strap, measure and cut 16 x 1 1/4 of contrast
fabric. (No pattern piece for strap.)
2. Fuse Interfacing 1 to wrong side of each
Front and Back section, following manufacturers
instructions. Note: Interfacing will not be shown in
the following illustrations.
3. Pin two Patch 2 sections to each Front and Back 1
section, centering within placement lines. Baste raw
edges together. Stitch close to inner edge.
4. Place zipper, face down, over one Front and
Back section, centering zipper tape over seamline
and having lower zipper stop 5/8 from end without
double small circles. Open zipper. Turn upper edge
of zipper tape down 5/8 from opposite end, as
shown. Baste in place. Using a zipper foot, stitch
along seamline.
5. Press seam toward bag. Edgestitch along seam.
6. Apply opposite side of zipper tape to remaining
section in same manner.
7. With wrong sides together, fold Loop 3 in half
lengthwise; press. Stitch close to long edges.
8. Slip Loop through D-Ring; baste ends together.
9. Pin loop to side edge of one section, centering
between small circles; baste.
10. Open zipper. Stitch Front and Back sections
together at sides and lower edge. Trim.
11. Turn right side out; press.
12. Turn in seam allowance on upper edge of each
Front and Back Lining.
13. Stitch Front and Back Lining sections together,
leaving upper edge open.
14. With wrong sides together, slip lining inside
bag. Slipstitch pressed edge over zipper tape.
15. With wrong sides together, fold Strap in half
lengthwise; press. Stitch close to long edges.
16. Fold Strap in half crosswise; baste ends together.
17. Slip Strap through D-Ring on loop, turning back
1 on ends. Stitch close to ends.
18. With right sides together, fold Loop 4 in half
crosswise. Stitch ends with a 1/4 seam.
19. Turn right side out. Insert Strap through Loop,
sliding Loop down and over stitched ends of Strap.
Tack Loop, if desired.
20. Attach zipper pull to zipper.
