FROM: REBEKAH BOWEN SUBJECT: MEDIA CENTER EVALUATION DATE: OCTOBER 28, 2014 CC: AMY LEE, MEDIA SPECIALIST
Mrs. Dyal, In collaboration with Amy Lee, the current school media specialist, I have completed the GLMA & GLA 2013 Library Media Program Self-Evaluation Rubric. This evaluation was completed in order to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of our media center in its current state. The results showed several areas of great success, but also some areas that we feel need some attention. We have developed action steps that, if implemented, can bring all areas of our media center to proficient, and beyond. To start, there are five standards that were found to be at the basic proficiency level. The areas in need of attention are Student Achievement and Instruction, Facilities, Access, and Resources, Administrative Support, and Staff Development opportunities. The table below indicates the corresponding standard and action steps to help to improve the overall effectiveness of the Bleckley County Middle School Media Center.
