Overall Comments:
Shelley has a very outgoing and animated attitude which encouraged student listening and learning. Shelley had a very enthusiastic voice and an engaging manner. Shelley has exceptional skills which will enable her to
be an excellent teacher. Shelley is well organized, creative, knowledgeable about curriculum and student learning. Shelley demonstrated an awareness of what needed to be taught, how to plan for learning using a
variety of strategies so all students will learn and assessing student learning. It was evident that the students responded positively to Shelley's style of teaching. Shelley was able to modify expectations for those students
with special needs. Shelley participated in staff meetings as well as workshops for Math and EQAO. It was evident that Shelley was dedicated in her role as teacher and willing to learn from her experiences.

Shelley demonstrated a kind and enthusiastic attitude towards all students. Shelley treated all students
with respect and understood their individual needs. Shelley set high expectations for student learning
and challenged them to problem solve and use critical thinking throughout their activities. Shelley
made numerous adjustment to fit the needs of the many identified special needs students in the class.
The students were very interested in her lessons and showed her respect as a teacher.

Shelley worked collaboratively with numerous staff within the class & school. Shelley had to work with
an Educational Assistant & nurse for one of her students. Shelley participated in workshops with her
associate teacher dealing with Math and EQAO. Shelley's binder was up to date and well organized.

Shelley demonstrates initiative in learning and understanding of new programs and curriculum
expectations. Shelley accepts constructive criticism and sees it as an opportunity to further develop
her skills as a teacher.

Shelley's lesson plan was well organized and aligned with the Ontario Curriculum expectations.
Shelley kept the students engaged throughout the lesson by using a variety of activities. Shelley
differentiated her instruction for those students who were identified. Shelley was well organized and
prepared for each part of her lesson. Shelley was able to effectively articulate what the learning goal
and expectations, so students would be successful in their learning. Shelley used a sound guessing
game to hook the students into the lesson. Interest was displayed by all students. Then by
incorporating the SMARTboard into the lesson, students continued to be actively involved. Shelley's
pacing of the lesson followed her plan, so she was able to complete the lesson. Shelley's consolidation
& application activity reinforced the learning goal and student assessment could be made from these
activities. Shelley succeeded in the delivery of her lesson due to her extensive planning.

Shelley was able to implement her lesson as a result of her extensive planning and organization. The
students were engaged throughout the whole time due to Shelley's use of a variety of instructional
strategies. Shelley began the lesson by playing a "What's that sound?" game. Shelley would use
something to make a sound and the students had to guess what it looked like. Shelley then had the
students share their ideas and used the SMARTboard for the students to draw what the sounds looked
like. Shelley then used the SMARTboard to teach a new concept. The students were interested and
involved throughout the lesson because they wanted to display their ideas on the SMARTboard.
Shelley used effective questions to stimulate thinking and participation throughout the lesson. Shelley's
pacing was effective.

Shelley is very personable and has a very positive presence in the classroom. Shelley has a strong yet
gentle voice and the students responded positively towards her. Shelley followed the classroom
procedures and had excellent classroom management skills. Shelley was able to respectfully get
students back on track by just mentioning their names. Shelley was very animated throughout the
lesson which encouraged listening by the students. Shelley continually walked around the room and
visited those students who needed encouragement to stay on task. Shelly always did this very
respectfully. Shelley continually reinforced positive behavior throughout the lesson.
