Laura has been an absolute delight to have in my classroom. She shows a high degree of professionalism. She is always eager to learn and is willing to go beyond her comfort zone. She collaborates will
with colleagues. She shows empathy and respect for her students, which in turn gained her affection and respect. She is a very effective teacher who engages the interests of her students. Laura will be

Laura's lessons always have an engaging introductory activity that captures the students' attention as
well as setting a calm and focused atmosphere. She employs a variety of instructional strategies to
facilitate learning. In her lessons, there are listening segments for the auditory learners, movement
components for the kinesthetic learners, and visual presentation for the visual learners. She is adept in
using technology in her classes (Smart Notebook, Windows media player, internet) and utilizes these
tools everyday. Her sense of pacing is excellent for a beginning teacher. Generally speaking, classes

Laura uses a calm voice to set the tone for the classroom. She uses good scaffolding techniques when
setting questions for students. Her use of probes, prompts and wait time are effective. She always set
the tone for a collaborative and positive learning environment, which is well-received by the students.
For a beginning teacher, her classroom management skills are to be highly commended. She sets
rules and routines and insists on them gently but firmly. She is always aware of off-task behaviour and
deals with them by using proximity and reminders. She is also proactive in her management (e.g prearrange groups, assigned seating for students, lay out expectations clearly).
