Injection of EMF in The Rotor Circuit

This document discusses speed control of three-phase slip-ring induction motors by injecting EMF into the rotor circuit. It can be done by producing a slip frequency EMF and injecting it into the secondary winding on the stator using brushes, as shown in the equivalent circuit diagram of an induction motor with EMF injected into the rotor circuit. This injection of EMF allows for speed control of the induction motor running at constant torque load.

Injection of EMF in the rotor circuit:

Consider a three-phase induction motor in which the power is supplied through both stator
and rotor. It is assumed that the machine is running at constant torque load. The speed control
of three-phase slip-ring induction motor can be done using injected EMF in the rotor circuit. In
the Schrage motor slip frequency EMF is produced and injected into secondary winding on the
stator by means of brushes.
