Inventory Management and Logistics in the FMCG industry Why is your team interested in this project topic/area? (Highlight the key aspects and significant developments about the proposed topic and related business environment) The FMCG Industry is growing at very high pace. This calls for highly efficient logistics and inventory management system. With growing competition companies are trying to achieve optimal performance at minimum cost thus reaching for lean supply chain management concept. The scope for growth and improvement in this field is the motivation for us to do this project.

Improvement in inventory management and logistics of FMCG using Lean Supply Chain Management. o Focus on minimizing cost. o Improving accuracy of demand forecasting Economies of scale in the FMCG industry. o Determine the Quantity to be produced and stocked. Integrating Technology with Inventory management and Logistics to improve efficiency. Implementation of JIT (Just in Time) strategy in logistics.
Proposed Methodology (Overview)
Finding correlation between statistical modeling and collaborative forecasting of demand in inventory management. Applying the concept of Lean, which is essentially continuous improvement focused on eliminating nonvalue added activities or waste from the viewpoint of the customer. Integration of GPS and WMS - to facilitate the determination of the easiest route, enhancing JIT. Study factors which influences efficiency of a retail ERP for automating inventory replenishment processes.

To design a minimum cost, sustainable inventory management model.
