    Names of God:

    ADONAI – Gen 15:2,

    - Means ‘lord’ or ‘master’. ( Psa 8:1; 40:17; Hos 12:14)


    - It suggests the authority.

    YAHWEH –

    - It is an adaption of Hebrew word “YHWH”.


    - It is written without vowels
    - Adding the vowels of Adonai, get JEHOVAH.
    - The meaning is usually related to “TO BE”.
    I was, I am, and I shall always continue to be.
    - The Self Sufficient & Self Existing One.
    - The Name YAHWEH shows His personal relationship with His people
    (Gen 12:8; Ex 6:6; 20:2; 34:5-7). Ex 6:3.

    El Shaddai – related to mountain, God Almighty. Gen 17: 1-7.


    I am enough.

    El Elyon – shows the supremacy of God, God Most High. Gen 14:18-22.

    El Olam – stresses on the unchanging character of God, God Everlasting.

    Jehovah Jireh – The Lord will Provide. Gen 22:14.

    Jehovah Ropheka – The Lord that heals, Ex 15:26.

    Jehovah Nissi – The Lord our Banner. Ex 17:15.

    Jehovah Sabbaoth – The Lord of Hosts.1Sam 1:3.
