To, ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ Ref.: Two Week Methodology Course in Economics and other Social Sciences For PhD students and young teachers: 28.3.2011 to 11.4.2011 Dear Madam/Sir, It is our pleasure to announce that we propose to organize a Two week methodology course in Economics and other Social Sciences for PhD students and young teachers sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi from 28th March 2011 to 11th April 2011 at the Department of Economics, University of Lucknow. The proposed programme is oriented for PhD students of Economics and other Social Sciences and also for University/College teachers as well as faculty members of the research institutes who are pursuing for PhD degree in these subjects. The programme is also for those who are engaged in research. We would like to invite eligible scholars to attend this programme. They should apply on plain paper to the undersigned and their application should be forwarded by the research supervisor and Head of the Department/ Principal of the College/ Director of the institute. The applicant should attach a brief CV with contact details along with details of their PhD/research topic in 2-3 pages outlining objectives, methodology, scope of the research and the work done so far and also their specific problems in the course of their work. Some knowledge of the quantitative techniques is desirable. Last date for the application is 10th March 2011 and they would be informed about the acceptance of their applications by 21st March 2011. The participants would be provided with tea and lunch, etc. Outside participants would be provided second class rail fare/bus fare from the shortest route besides boarding. Registration fee is Rs 200/- for unpaid research scholars; Rs 400/- for paid research scholars; and Rs 800/ for the teachers and other employed applicants. We are hoping to have a good interactive programme in the interest of the research environment in Economics and other Social Sciences.
