Description of Non conformance: Detection of Metal fragments in Raw Frozen Vannamei P&D IQF Shrimps 10X1 Kgs Brand DESIRE Quantity Shipped 26/30 100 M/cs The Metal fragment- Identified in Picture is round, looks to be a rust piece from Ferrous/Galvanized Utensils. Analysis of Non- Conformance/ Source of contamination :The HACCP team has conducted a thorough Investigation and Risk Analysis in the Implementation procedure of SOP/008-10-33-59/Revision 008 in the processing establishment on 09.06.2013 to find out any system failures in the procedure implementation and found to be adequate. The document review of :- The Processing documents pertaining to the Non-conformity product Dated 17.03.2013 was verified for the Possible reasons. a. The Product was processed on 17.03.2013 from Raw Material source AP-II-2008 (02230) P/1, Raw material, Pre-processing, Processing, IQF Register and Metal Detector were found meeting the standards. b. Packing and Monitoring record FMT/QC/086-B shows the product is packed in white master Carton in plain Pouch with provision to keep Header card after Metal Detection. Reason for Non-conformity Delay in final packing The Product will be kept in plain pouch which has two portions already sealed making two compartments one for the product and one for the Header card. The Product will be kept in one part that will be sealed and Passed for Metal detection. During re-packing has final lot the header cart will be kept another part and sealed. The HACCP Team has identified this step may be the possible source for the metal fragments in the product. Though the product was already in the sealed part of the pouch, the possible chance of breakage of pouch while repacking and the chances of such contamination can be eliminated by this step completely.
