BITS FROM BRO. DAVE
AMI SH COUNTRY TRI P: We still have a number of seats left for our trip, on Thursday, October 16. (Thats this week!) We will be visiting the David Warther Museum. David Warther is a skilled craftsman following in the footsteps of his very talented father and grandfather. Davids specialty is the carving of miniature ships, from ancient to more modern. A feature article, on his work, appeared in the September 14 issue of Country Living. After our museum tour, we will have lunch at the Dutch Valley restaurant and visit our favorite cheese shops in the afternoon. The cost, for travel and museum admission, will be $15 per person. We will depart at 7:30 am and return in late afternoon. A sign- up sheet is posted. Payment is due at signup. Contact me today!
MI DWEEK BI BLE STUDI ES: Our two Wednesday study groups will resume this week (Oct. 15). Our current study is titled A Brief Survey Of Old Testament History. Study outlines are available. We meet at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM. The same material is covered in each session. Why not join us?
FUTURE EVENTS: Mark your calendars and plan to share in our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, on November 16. Our friend, Tom Shelton, will be providing entertainment. On December 11, we are planning a special catered lunch for our Keenagers and friends. Watch for details!
FI NAL THOUGHT: A reputation once broken may possibly be repaired, but the world will always keep its eye on the spot where the crack was. THOUGHTS FROM BRAD
Our Wednesday night, Respectable Sins elective, will study chapters 8 & 9 this week. Please prepare having read those chapters. We start at 6:15. Im looking forward to another great night of discussion.
Our next great night of fellowship will be a meal on October 29 th . All the fun will last from 5:15-6:15 in the fellowship hall. We will enjoy our first ever SPUDWEISER night. If you have never done this before, it is a potato bar where you can add all the trimmings to your liking. Following the meal, we will watch a family oriented video so please plan to join us. So that we can be good stewards of our finances, we will ask for a $2 per person donation for the meal.
I want to take this opportunity to inform you of a great event coming to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The event is called ICOM. That is an acronym for International Conference on Missions. This years event will be held the week of November 14-15 th . This convention could be compared to the NACC which is held each summer but the emphasis of this convention is opening our eyes to the world of missions. This convention will include great worship and great speaking. If you have ever thought about the possibility of traveling abroad to be used by God on a short-term mission adventure, then this is for you. If you have ever considered going into full-time missions, then this is for you. If you want to go just to hear about what God is doing globally, then this is for you. Continue looking for more information about ICOM as more details come our way. We will plan to attend on Friday, November 14 th as a group. If you want to attend, begin signing up on the bulletin board in the coat room.
This weeks prayer: God, give my church and me a heart for our community. Let me see people through your eyes. And give me the courage and the wisdom to let go of this church, so that others who best reflect this community can lead us and teach us. In Jesus name, Amen!
In His Service, Brad

6:30 p.m. The Scent of Lilacs by Ann Gabhart After the summer of 1964, life for Jocie Brooke will never be the same.
Life-changing events rarely happen in quiet Hollyhill, Kentucky, and when they do, they are few and far between. But for young Jocie Brooke and her family, they happen all at once during the humid summer of 1964. Though on the surface things are just fine, it seems like everyone in Jocie's life has something they're not saying, something they're hiding from her--and from themselves. As Jocie digs into her family's past, she stirs up a whirlwind of discoveries. Will she find the answers everyone so desperately needs? Or will her questions lead to truths better left hidden?
Combining unforgettable characters, true-to-life struggles, and the perfect dose of humor and nostalgia, this riveting story from bestselling author Ann Gabhart explores the very essence of new life and love. Carriage Court Service Today at 2:00 p.m.
We invite everyone to worship today at 2:00 p.m. with the residents of Carriage Court. We encourage you to come for a time of singing, prayer, and communion with the residents. We worship with them on the 2 nd
Sunday of each month. If you cant come today, please plan on coming with us next month! All are welcome to participate.

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are:
Christ-Centered Worship We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace- based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).
Church Health and Biblical Balance Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)
Global Evangelism We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon- Coming King (Acts 20:27).
Fellowship and Ministry After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.
Discipleship We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.
Social Conscience We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
OUR PURPOSE
WE EXIST TO
Exalt Gods Greatness; Evangelize Gods Work Equip Gods People Express Gods Love through Jesus Christ
OUR MISSION To Love God and Love People! How Can I Respond Today? At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member. If you would like to take a Curious class, please indicate this on your Silent Roll Call Card. How to Stay Safe in the Arms of J esus J ude 17-23 Brad Seevers preaching
