I am excited about the near completion of the Raymond Miles Youth Building at First Baptist Church.
Because of your faithful giving this building and its furnishings were all done debt free. Thank you to all who have given, pledged and continue to give to this ministry effort. The date and time of the dedication service will be announced shortly. It is not too late to join in the MY HOPE WITH BILLY GRAHAM effort in November. Training has begun but you can easily catch up and be part of a national effort to bring the message of salvation to every home in the USA. Join us this Sunday evening at 5:30 for our next session. We meet upstairs in the Youth Room of the Shell Annex. It is finally here! The movie, BROTHERS KEEPER, will debut the first of November and will be showing in Tallahassee at the Tallahassee Mall. Would you be interested in going on the bus and vans as a group? As the debut draws near we will have more information about times and dates. I have heard a lot of talk, and been told of talk, around the church concerning various issues. What I have not heard is talk of sharing the Gospel, our purpose as a church to reach the lost, and the work and leadership of the Holy Spirit. These are the things I want to talk about. ANDY ENTERTAINS AT FELLOWSHIP CLUB
Andy Daughtry, pianist extraordinaire, serves as the Minister of Music and Media at First Baptist in Thomasville. He will be entertaining us at our next meeting! We have some great programs planned for the 2013-2014 year of Fellowship Club There were 39 in attendance. Lets break 50 when we meet next month on Monday, Oct. 7.
CHANCEL CHOIR This weeks bonus rehearsal for the new Christmas musical, The Jesus Gift will be held in the BARACA classroom this Sunday afternoon from 5 until 6:10 PM. The Sopranos are featured this week.
RADIO BROADCAST Beginning with the first Sunday in October we will be broadcasting our 11:00 AM worship service on WBGE Live 101.9. Make a note and put it on your radio, so you can worship at home when you are unable to attend in person.
Fall Festival Wednesday, October 30, 5-7 pm Still looking for volunteers. Thanks to all who already signed up! You can help too. Use the sheet in your Sunday School folder. Game/Inflatables Team: Thirty minutes slot to oversee a game and pass out candy and prizes. Set up Team: Come early and set up tables, chairs, games, and electrical needs. Registration Team: Welcome families and children as they enter and make sure everyone has a bag of info on our church. Food Prep Team: Come a bit early and cook hotdogs and get everything ready for sno cones. Food Service Team: Serve dinner and sno cones. Generator hunting! Two down, two to go! May I borrow yours? SAINTS ALIVE TO SHARE IN TOCCOA
The Saints Alive Choir will travel to the Baptist Conference Center in Toccoa, Georgia to participate in the Georgia Baptist Senior Adult Choir Festival. This year marks the tenth consecutive year they have traveled to this event. We have plans to participate in the Choir Share portion of the event where we will share two of our favorite songs with the other groups. Its not too late to join us on this great trip to the foothills of the Smokey Mountains in the fall which occurs October 28-29. Note: trip to FBC Moultrie scheduled: Thursday, Nov. 21.
