STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My name is Harinder Singh. I am 18 year old and single. I have always believed that there is no
substitute for hard work. I believe courage and determination play a pivotal role towards the success of
any individual. My fathers name is Mr. Muktiar Singh and he is a farmer. My mothers name is Mrs.
Narinder kaur and she is a house wife.
Academics Background:
I have been good student throughout my studies. In year 2013 I passed my senior secondary education
in Commerce Group from Punjab School Education Board. I got 5.5 bands in I.E.L.T.S test which was
conducted in month of MAY 2014. I take this opportunity to express my willingness to study and learn
to pursue my career in Bachelor of commerce
Why this Course:
It is very common among Indian parents to prefer either medical or engineering as a career for their
children and try their best to convince their children not to go for other stream other than these two.
Even though from childhood I had always aspired to work in business sector and establish my own
business some day, I had completed 12th in commerce field and follow my own dream of doing
education in the Management sector.
It is difficult to understate the importance of Accounting in companies and the business world as a
whole. It is because of my recognition of the importance of accounting and management that I have
decided to seek further education and a career in this field. After careful consideration, it has become
clear to me that developing a successful career in accounting in the modern business environment
requires advanced training in accounting and related subjects. I am motivated to study in your Bachelor
of commerce program in Management by an awareness of the ever-changing reality of the business
environment and the need to upgrade my own expertise and professional abilities. Many outstanding
scholars from my country have studied abroad to hone their skills with foreign teachers and classmates,
and this has been instrumental to the progress of my countrys economy. I hope to follow suit,
broadening my international perspective, improving my language skills, and refining my knowledge of
Management.
Given the importance of globalization in the management and development of companies, an education
that does not fully address the international and multicultural realities of the modern business world is
incomplete. I have therefore decided to pursue my degree overseas, as the expertise and facilities
offered in my countrys educational institutions are limited and thus unable to match the diversity and
multiculturalism available in the Australia. I look forward to meeting and interacting with people from
diverse backgrounds. The ability to listen and learn from others is crucial for professionals in all
industries. Deakin university, with its mix of people from different backgrounds, is a true microcosm
of the international business world and thus the ideal place in which to pursue a business-based
education.

Why Australia:
After Deciding about to have formal Management education I thought about different options available
in India. It is fact that the quality business education in India is limited to the top tier business schools.
I realize that its too difficult to get admission into these few quality institutes as competition is too
tough. Many students are preparing for entrance exam for these institutes for years and finally settled
for low quality institutes due to competition. So I started to think about different study abroad options
as I preferred Expensive quality education over cheap poor quality education. Then I choose Australia
keeping in mind reputation of Australian Institutes, Smooth Faster admission process and availability
of Post study work visa. If I go for good Institute in USA OR Canada, it might take much longer time
to get admission. Further there is no post study work for students opting for Management education at
USA or UK. So If I come back to India with just good education, I might face more struggles. In my
opinion if I get some international work experience after quality education, it will help me a lot to get
better job in India. Employers will have more confident in experienced management graduates. Further
Management education from developed country will give a strong base to my career. Australian
institutions are educating more than 4, 15,000 international students. Australian businesses follow the
best management practices and Institutes teach best management practices. Travelling and studying in
Australia will give me the chance to expand my horizons, learn about other cultures and meet a lot of
interesting people. Australian cities are safe and clean, with low crime rates. Therefore I want to get
Australian knowledge and skill. Why Chisholm Institute leading to Deakin university:
I choose Chisholm Institute and Deakin University due to following reasons: Smaller class size, more
personal support, more applied and practical study programs than university, Reasonable fees than
university. There are lots of advantages of choosing Chisholm Institute and Deakin University like the
Population of International students, Strong focus on Speaking Skills and they provide Experienced
and highly qualified teachers. From the Chisholm Institute website I confirmed that this course will
equip me with practical skills in areas such as operational plans, presentations, workplace information
systems, promotional plans, work schedules, team effectiveness, and customer service strategies I have
also gone through Deakin University website the course of Bachelor of Commerce graduates will
acquire a broad knowledge in all aspects of business. Deakin achieved a 5 star and Chisholm achieved
a 4 star rating for overall graduate satisfaction in the 2015 Good Institutes. As I have a related study
background it would be easy for me to understand my subjects and perform well even in Australian
Institute. Deakin University has more than 42,000 students at both undergraduate and post graduate
levels. I have selected Certificate IV Frontline Management + Diploma of Management + Bachelor of
Commerce.
After Study:
After studying graduation from Australia I will get international exposure and education both. My plan
is to work with a well reputed organization where I can utilize my skill. In India there is a very great
opportunity for a Business graduate, so International study will give me the opportunity to have cutting
edge over my competitors back in India. India is growing very fast in the Business field. Therefore,
after getting bachelors degree from Deakin University I will get good placement in well reputed
companies.
