STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

There will always be a need for individuals who can provide accurate and timely financial information to
managers, investors and creditors. Management is not restricted to any specific industry, management level
or country. All organizations have human resources, financial information processing and reporting needs.
The professionals who work in this field usually have a deep knowledge of business.

I am Abhilasha Wadan and my motive in life is to make people’s life easier with technology and with this
motive, I completed my matriculation from Board of School Education Haryana in the year 2010 with
70.8% and Senior Secondary in Commerce Stream from same board in the year 2012 with 70.8%, After that,
I did Bachelor of Commerce from Kurukshetra University in the year 2018 with 52%. After completing my
Bachelor of Commerce, I am working with “Vision travel" as  a “Manager” from April 2017 to till date.
During my Job, I decided to do my higher education from abroad for global perspectives and to attain
internationally recognized qualification. While working in a company, I realized the significance of Human
Resources Management as this plays an essential part in determining that an organization functions
systematically and more productivity can be achieved. So I have completed my IELTS on 1st February
2020 and scored overall 7.0 bands (L-8.0, R-6.0, W-6.5, S-7.5).

I have been always fascinated towards the corporate sector and the way all the departments of a company
operates, Board meetings, Marketing plans, Financial Reports, Strategies and the process of decision making
in the board meetings. All these activities if executed perfectly bring desired financial results for a company.
I have always wanted to take up higher education which would equip me with the tools to enter a board
room of a giant company, so I am taking baby steps towards my goal.

To streamline my propensity in every aspect of peak level management more, Human Resources
Management is what allured my take up a graduate certificate in business management and human resource
management. I believe that the only thing which has no end is Knowledge. With the same thing in my mind,
I want to enhance my knowledge of the business world by getting enrolled into the Graduate Certificate
(Human Resources & Business Management) at Algoma University.

Through this statement of purpose, I wish to achieve my aims that have motivated me towards this direction.
Graduate Certificate course is to build skills in every organization or gain skills to transition to a new field.
A graduate certificate program may be less expensive than a master program, which can be appealing to
those who already have a number of financial responsibilities. With increasing competition, applicants with
international qualifications and experience are given more priority for employment. Thus, I started looking
for a course that would be beneficial for my future. As I am working as manager to improve my business or
professional skills, I have already imagined my professional life. Certainly, the purpose of my life is to get
the best understanding & knowledge in the business field. In my view, acquiring knowledge of business will
not only be extremely useful, but also personally rewarding and enjoyable. It is a fascinating area of study
that I will certainly be able to apply to my future work. Every organization in every industry requires
management professionals. This makes Business administration and general management one of the most
versatile and rewarding careers available to me. This particular program and the idea of making a prosperous
career in this field fills me with exuberance and this program will give me a mature sense of understanding
of Management. As an individual I love being an extrovert, managing and understanding the intricacies of
human nature and being able to inculcate that in my career and emerge as a successful asset for a firm is
what drove me to pursue this program. My native country India has also adapted the trend of globalization
and transformed from a low-tech manufacturing base into a technology-based economy. Growing up in such
a dynamic and quickly developing economy has given me a strong desire to take part in the business world
of the future.
Canada as a study destination offers me an excellent opportunity to fulfil my deep-rooted childhood dream
and aspirations of becoming a professional and better individual and the answer to the question ‘why a
program from Canada only’. As Canada is way ahead of any other nation in technology, manufacture and
sales and provides the best infrastructure to international students. Just to be aware of all these related issues
and to gain a prolific knowledge, l opted for this major course as my career development objective. As a
nation, Canada represents and celebrates true democratic values and systems. Its unity in diversity is an
excellent paradigm of true federalism and one can aspire to reach even the sky. The Canadian high academic
standards and rigorous quality control means that one will not only be earning a high quality education but
also open doors for a bright future and enhancement of career opportunity over the long term.

ALGOMA UNIVERSITY is one of the leading institutions in Canada with highly qualified spirited faculty.
After a complete research, I found that the Project Management program at Algoma is bundled with subjects
such as proposal and tender writing, strategy and plan making, time and activity management and much
more. They are likely to satisfy my needs. I can study the management element of the project in depth.
Moreover, I learned about engagement of Algoma University in various dynamic researches that will
provide me outstanding learning experiences and techniques. 

Coming from a business family my aspirations for studying broad do not look frivolous as they would be
adequately financed by my affluent parents. I prolifically believe that my background in education had
prepared me for such a career. At this juncture of my career, it is impertinent for me to equip myself with
practical and theoretical knowledge about business program to actualize this goal. In addition, I will expand
my business accounting skills, collaborative team projects. 

I am thankful to my parents for providing me with all the necessary financial support so that I can pursue my
course in Canada. I paid CAD 16000 to reserve my seat for the one-year course fees in this college.
Furthermore, I have also deposited GIC amounting to CND 10200 for my living expenses

Ultimately, furthering my education has been always a benefit not only to the company I will be working
with, but also for my own self-development. The depth of knowledge and experience will make me able to
earn more, influence more, and influence the development and structure of the human resources department.
Human resource managers can work for a wide range of different organizations which will have plenty of
interesting options to choose from once I graduate. This particular program will be of use for me in my
future as I would be able to comprehend what is needed to maintain healthy liaisons with clients and
manpower. I can acquire knowledge about the challenges of managing the human resources in organizations
of different sizes and how these problems can be solved. Such wide-ranging professional knowledge is vital
for a successful human resource manager. I will apply what I will learn to planning a more comprehensive
HR program to solve problems and enable a company’s continued growth and expansion. As I enjoy
working with people and helping them reach their ultimate career goals, graduate certificate in business
management and human resources according to me is a wise decision. India is the sixth largest economy in
the world, growing steadily and attracting multinational companies from around the globe. I believe that a
degree or any certificate course from reputed university would enhance my professional skill to effectively
secure a job in one of the big multinational company. My education costs will be borne by my parents. I am
confident that education from Algoma University, Canada will instil a sense of holistic understanding in me
which will prove essential in my future endeavours
