Issue 20 4th February 2015

Dear Parents,
MESSAGE OF THE WEEK

Please see the attached letter regarding the swimming pool and works required. I would really
appreciate your support with this fundraising project.
SWIMMING POOL FUNDRAISING FOR REFURBISHMENT TOTAL TO DATE 175
Hopefully the school is to feature in the Lancashire Evening Post making the wider community aware of improvements
that are needed for our swimming pool that our school and the wider community makes great use of. Please look out
for it!
PTA VALENTINES DISCO
th

We are excited to let our children know there will be a Valentines disco on Friday 13 February. KS1 will begin at
5.15pm-6.15pm and KS2 disco will start at 6.30pm-7.30pm. For your childrens safety only children of KS1 age will be
admitted to the infant disco and only children of junior age will be admitted to their disco at 6.30pm.
Junior children attending the After School Club must be collected at the club no later than 6pm to be brought back to
the junior disco at 6.30pm. There have been incidences of children being not being collected at 6pm and with nobody
to supervise them until the disco begins, which is a serious issue.
Spare letters are available at the school office or on the website.
SMOKING AT THE SCHOOL GATES
You may be aware that smoking is not permitted on school grounds following the Lancashire County Council policy. I
would like to ask all out parents who deliver and collect their children at the end of the school day to please not
smoke at the gates to the playgrounds and car park so that it does not occur in the vicinity of the school. I would
really appreciate your efforts to comply with this.
DATA COLLECTION SHEETS
By the end of this week your child will be sent home with a data collection sheet. Please check all the details are
correct, if they are incorrect please amend where necessary and return the form to the office as soon as possible.
YEAR 6 TRIP TO BOREATTON PARK
Year 6 are already getting very excited about their forthcoming adventure to Shropshire in the summer The next
th
instalment of 50 is due by Friday 6 February. Please could all payments be sent in sealed envelopes and placed in
the secure grey boxes around the school. Cheques can be made payable to Lancashire County Council (LCC). Just for
th
your information the final payment will be 40 and will be due by 20 March.
