Term 1 Issue 3 Feb 129h 2015

Ruapehu Road, Waiouru

Kia Ora Everyone,

We are all speed ahead here at school. Our start of year testing will
be completed at the end of this week and the teachers will begin to
prepare for our Term One Parent Teacher interviews. This year
senior classes (Years Four to Eight) will have their interviews on
the 9th and 10th of March (Week Seven). Junior classes will have
their interviews on the 23rd and 24th of March (Week Nine). The
reasons for the split this year are two fold, 1) to allow Mrs Donaldson
to settle in with her class as she gets back on the 9th; and 2) we do
not have enough relievers in the area to cover all six teachers. Notices will go out next week for
senior classes (Year Four to Eight) to book their times. Junior booking notices will go out the week
after. Please remember that our doors are always open to you and if you have any questions or
concerns, please let your classroom teacher know and she will arrange a time to meet with you.
As many of you know we have been trying a new approach in the junior rooms with a gender split for
different parts of the learning day. The teachers are already noticing a positive learning shift for both
boys and girls, and we have received a lot of positive feedback from our regular parent helpers who
have been working in the classroom with our different groups. We would now like to invite you to a
Feedback, Feed forward meeting for our Junior parents on Thursday 5th March at 5pm in Mrs
Corbetts classroom. A separate newsletter will be sent home next week as a reminder.
Finally I would like to thank our parent helpers, it is so wonderful to have you in school sharing in your
childrens learning. It is because of you that we are able to give your children so many more learning
opportunities. Kerry has started a weekly thank you piece in our newsletter, but I also just wanted to
say thank you as well. We really appreciate it.
