Prerequisite for this release - products:

Flexman 5 and an appropriate FlexMan license
Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 (32-bit) is required for some functions:
Optimum operation of the AVEVA Design Platform GUI requires Arial Unicode MS font,
supplied with Microsoft Office (2000 onwards) and also with Microsoft Office Visio.
Microsoft Office Excel import requires .NET Programmability Support enabled when
Office is installed. This can be found under Advanced customization of applications and
installs the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll; without this, Excel import will not work.
Microsoft Office Visio 2007 or 2010 (Standard edition, 32-bit) is required for AVEVA Diagrams and
for the AVEVA Schematic Model Viewer.
For full details, please refer to the AVEVA Marine 12.1.1 Minimum System Requirements manual.

Supersedes:
This release supersedes the previous full release 80150 AVEVA Hull & Outfitting 12.1.1.

To Install Product Release:

Please read the installation guide, which is visible on the DVD and will be placed under the
product\manuals folder once the product install (setup.exe) has been run.
Please note that there is now a combined installer for Hull & Outfitting and the associated
products listed above. This can be configured by using the check boxes to install a selection of
products; it may also be used to add additional ones or remove them at a later date.
Simple installations (using setup.exe) will install to C:\ but the individual .msi files will use the
default drive.
If you require sample projects, please ensure that you check the Hull & Outfitting models box.
The Global tick-box installs the necessary support for Global use of Hull & Outfitting. There is
a separate installer for the Global server; please note that there is no longer a tick-box option
to install it with Hull & Outfitting.
NOTE:
By default Global is not installed in the same folder as Marine (or Plant), however it is possible
to modify the installations to use the same folder. If this is done, and then one product is uninstalled, the other product installation will require repair.

First released on:

This product release is first available on AVEVA DVD Hull & Outfitting 12.1.SP2, release number

Exceptions Significant Defects and Recommended Workarounds
AVEVA intends to fix the defects listed below in a fix release or service pack as soon as
reasonably possible.
Incident
number

Defect
number

P-43418

P-43715

Description
The use of ASCII (Basic Latin) filenames is
recommended for compatibility with other
systems and various specific issues which have
yet to be resolved.
Updating the Working Extract Number on the
Modify Location Form sometimes fails in Modify
Mode.
Outfitting 12.1 does not check that names are no
longer than the maximum number of characters
permitted. For most element types, this is 50, but
for some Outfitting Draft element types it is 120.
These limits are the same as at 12.0 and earlier
versions, although with Unicode it is now more
consistent (the limit for Chinese, Korean and
Japanese characters is now also 50 or 120,
whereas previously it was something less than
half this).
The same name limits as before applies to Hull
and Marine Drafting, see documentation for
details.

Recommended Workaround

Use command line until this can be

fixed.
Please avoid exceeding the permissible
limit as the results may be
unpredictable. The limit will be
reinstated at a fix release.

For the latest list of exceptions and other updates, please see the Product Release Latest Update
Note on AVEVA's support web site http://downloads.aveva.com/80241/w80241.pdf.
