Usecleanteacuporbeakerforsamplingwater.
1. Takemeasurementofthetotalwaterhardness(dh)atthetapwherethemachineisconnectedto.
2. Measuretheconductivity(S/cm)atthetapwherethemachineisconnectedto.
3. Measurethehardnessofthewaterinthebooster.
Therefore,theboosterdrainhoseistobeused.Discardthefirstcupofwatertoensurethatnoresiduals
fromthehosefalsifythemeasuredvalue.
4. Measuretheconductivityoftheboosterwater.
Adjustmentofsoftenersettingaccordingtothehardnessofincomingwater:
1. Ensureadequatesoftenersetting:
H01=upto7dh/H02=8to14dh/H03=15to21dh/H04=22to30dh.
2. Ensurethatthesaltchambercontainssalt.
3. Ensurethatgranularsaltisused(salttabletsarenotallowed).
4. Ensurethatthesaltchamberhasbeenfilledupwithwater.
ApproximatevaluesifsoftenerfunctionisO.K.:
Theconductivityoftheboosterwatershallbeabout300S/cmhigherthantheconductivityofthatwatertaken
atthetap.
Forexample:Ifthetotalhardnessoftheincomingwateris500S/cm,theconductivityoftheboosterwaterwill
beroughly800S/cm.Ifthisvalueissignificantlyhigher(e.g.3000S/cm),anincorrectsoftenerfunctionisvery
likely.
Furthersteps:
1. Adjustthesoftenerto"H04"toensureanewregenerationwillbeactuatedevery3cycles.
2. SelecttheshortestprogramP01andtakeasampleofwater(ateacup)attheboosterdrainhose
immediatelyaftertheprogramcyclehasceased.
3. Measureandnotedownthewaterhardness.
4. Measureandnotedowntheconductivity.
Repeatprocedures1to4seventimestoensuresaltingofbothresincolumns.
Anincorrectsoftenerfunctionismostsupposableifthemeasuredhardnessattheboosterdrainhoseishigher
than5dhand/ortheconductivityisextremelyhigh(i.e.intherangeof3000S/cm).
Proceedasfollowingincaseoftoohighhardnessand/orconductivityvalues:
1. Runthedraincycletoensureboosteremptyingdowntothepumpintake.
2. Removethesidepanels.
3. Activatethesoftenertestprogram"U03"asdescribedonnextpage.
Observetheresincolumnswiththeaidofatorchfromthelefthandsideofthemachine.
(Column"A"isattheleft,column"B"isattherightfromthispointofview).
Ifthesequentialoperationdeviatesfromthedescribedone(seenextpage),i.e.resin"B"wassixtimes
activated,itisverylikelythatasoftenervalveisjammingortheelectricalconnectionsareinterchanged
(thisislessprobable).
Theboostermustbeflushedthoroughlyattheendofthisprocedure(run5washcycles)toensurethe
chloridecontentisatanacceptableleveltopreventcorrosion.
Neverrunthesoftenertestprogramatthebeginofthehereindescribedprocedurebecauseitisunavoidable
thatsaltwillbeflushedintothesystem.Thus,measurementswouldbecomeincorrect.
