    We will be building off what you have been learning about in the
    Middle East. (1 min)
    Go to the PowerPoint.
    Talk about the essential questions.
    Tell them this is what we are going to talk about today. (1 min)

    Point out Saudi Arabia


    Talk about the government of Saudi Arabia.
    Ask how it is different from the United States (2 min)
    Have students turn the page to 222 in their book.
    Ask them what type of environment does Saudi Arabia have? (3
    min)
    Talk about agriculture in the region.
    Point out picture on page 223 (2 min)
    Have kids turn to 228
    Talk about oil resources in the region
    Point out the strait and talk about United States involvement when
    it comes to oil resources. (3 min)
    Move onto the slide on religion
    Tell students there will be a larger chapter on religion coming up
    Briefly describe Islam to them as it relates to Saudi Arabia. (2 min)
    Give them directions about the worksheet.
    Pass out worksheet
    Give students 10 min on timer to work on it (10 min)
    If there is time go over worksheet.
    Collect (5-10 min)
