User Notes
It is important that you read the following prior to starting I/A Series Documentation K0173WT-S in
order to take advantage of all the software features. This DVD contains documentation for I/A Series
Version 8.8 software (for Windows based stations) and hardware. Read the special steps below to
ensure that you can access the proper document set.
If a dialog box appears asking if you want to install the I/A Series Documentation, click
Yes or OK or Allow depending on the dialog.
If you do not have installation privileges, a dialog box appears asking you to provide your
system administrator credentials, enter the appropriate sa user name and password. This
indicates you are on a secure station.
If the workstation is not configured to autoplay the DVD/CD, go to the appropriate DVD
drive and double-click the file IA-Series-Documentation.exe.
The installation provides an entry in the All Programs listing and a shortcut is placed on the desktop.
To access the user documentation,
After putting the DVD in the drive, select either the I/A Series Documentation program listing for the specific I/A Series release or the desktop shortcut to access the page.
Setting Up Preferences
Go to Edit > Preferences > Documents. Make sure that Open Cross-Document Links in Same Window is NOT checked. This will allow you to have multiple windows open at the same time.
3. From the Look In pull down menu, choose Select Index... (located near the top of the list). The
Index selection window appears.
4. Click Add. From the browse window, go to the DVD drive containing the I/A Series V8.8 Index for
K0173WT-S and double click on the file called index88.pdx to add it as a searchable index.
5. Click Ok.
Click on Edit/Search.
At the bottom of the search pane, click Use Advanced Search Options.
In the What word or phrase would you like to search for? box, enter the search item.
To further specify the search item, select options from the pull-down menus and/or select the desired
check boxes.
Platform Issue
It is expected that the DVD works on Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 7, and Windows Server
2008. In order for the DVD to work on Windows 2003, it must have Service Pack 1 or later installed.
Printing Issues
Page Numbering in Acrobat Reader does not match page numbering of the page on the
screen or the printed copy. When printing a document or a specific section, make sure
that you refer to the Page Numbering in Acrobat Reader.
If the documents are not printing correctly, try downloading the latest printer driver for
your printer.
If the new driver does not correct the printing problem, try lowering the PostScript Level.
Select File>Print... to open the Print dialog box. Click Advanced and under PostScript
Options, change the Print Method from PostScript or Language Level 3 to PostScript
Language Level 2. Continue printing as normal.
Navigation Issues
In the event that the initial Master List (entry.pdf) which automatically opens with I/A Series V8.8
K0173WT-S is closed, you can re-open it by locating and opening the entry.pdf file on [DVD-ROM
drive]:\k0173wt_s.
