Important Notes:

Dont forget to RSVP for the Kindergarten Pumpkin Carving night, if you plan to attend!
This helps the kindergarten team know how much cider to purchase.
The second PTX meeting is on Tuesday, 10/11, at 7pm in the cafeteria. This is a fun way to
meet other parents and learn about ways our families and community partners help our
school. If you are interested, please come to a meeting!
October Family Pumpkin Projects went home yesterday. Please send these back by next
Thursday well present that afternoon. J

to send in ahead of 6me, that would be super helpful as
well! I am trying to keep our class party pre9y healthy
and hands-on. J Please let me know if you have any

Learning Goals for Next Week:

Math: Now that we have worked with numbers
1-10 for some time, we will begin exploring the
concepts of one more and one less (building
number lines in our brains). We are also
working hard to eliminate reversals when writing
our numbers. J
Reading: We will read several Trucktown books
by Jon Scieszka to compare texts and
characters. We are working hard to master
letter sounds. and some are beginning to sound
out CVC words and read emergent texts!
Writing: We will learn about opinions next
week. We will learn how to state an opinion and
then practice writing them to share, focusing on
supporting reasons and use of letter sounds in
writing.
Handwriting: capitals R + P
Art: Fire Safety Paintings, Glitter Ghost Mobiles
Science/Social Studies: Fire Safety Rules,
Pumpkin Life Cycles

Field Trip
On Tuesday the 25th, kindergarten
classes will have a field trip to the
Manhattan Corn Maze. We will
leave school around 11:30 with
sack lunches, and return no later
than 3:00. Please look for the
permission slip that will come
home next week!
